Dr. CEO the hooker headers are a different fit than the BBKS, I’m not sure how you would do it brother. Sorry..

Where did you get your caps or fittings for your BBK headers. I am looking for some as i just put a new motor in mines. Looking for Caps or fittings

OtisX TM...I'm thinking about getting BBK Shorty headers for my 95 LT1 Camaro, or Hooker Shorty Super Comps's...are the BBK's a better option to go with b/c I've been told that the Hookers are cracked what they're supposed to be. I'd greatly appreciate your input.
@otisV25 жыл бұрын
chico suave me personally man I would go with the BBK ceramic shorties. I’ve seen first hand what “cooker” headers can do to your ride. A buddy of mine installed some non ceramic hookers and they got so hot they put a crack in his hood. Literally melted right through. The BBK ceramics give the car a nice deep tone I love them.

Otis X TM hey brother I forgot to ask ya last time, I see you deleted your EGR & Air..did you have to retune your car? I’m thinking about getting a set of headers with the EGR & Air because where I live, there’s nobody for hundreds of miles to retune my car. Do you know a good set of headers that has those? I’m thinking about getting Kooks but not sure
@otisV25 жыл бұрын
chico suave EGR is still there but the AIR was deleted. And no sir I didn’t have to tune anything afterwards. The CEL comes on now because of the change in exhaust flow. If I wanted to get the CEL off I would have to have it tuned. Other then that it runs a1
@Dom_pss6 жыл бұрын
Did you have to do anything tuning wise since you deleted the air pump?
@otisV26 жыл бұрын
Dominique Perry nah man on the 95 you don’t have to do any tuning. However I’ve heard on the 96 that a tune is required afterwards or the CEL won’t turn off.

@@otisV2 honestly, it doesn't look like it will. Unfortunately, the shop that does really good work for my vehicles do smogs so they told me they can't delete the air pump themselves. Luckily I have a 95 but I'm also in California. Have you had any issues whatsoever with passing smog after the delete?

I have them on my caprice. It’s leaking from the flange. Does it take a gasket or is it metal to metal?
@otisV23 жыл бұрын
I had to use two graphite felpro gaskets to keep mine from leaking, the stock bbk gaskets that came with the headers are junk.
@otisV23 жыл бұрын
Takes a gasket, if it’s still leaking with one, try two on one side

stock cats? I'm installing myself and i see the kit came with 2 small extenders just not sure how they connect with the stock cats. Also instructions say something about cutting 5 inches off the passenger pipe. would appreciate some help
@otisV26 жыл бұрын
grindordie gonna do my best to remember everything but here’s what we did, yes it’s stock cats, we welded those two elbows to the existing catalytic assembly. You don’t need to cut anything at all, I had no figment issues whatsoever. I remember we took the cats off and welded those two extenders onto them, can’t remember if it was welded before or after the cats. Hope this helps a little
@otisV26 жыл бұрын
grindordie I could even climb under there and a snap a pic if it would help, I don’t know how much I’d be able to see.
@mustangmunoz86 жыл бұрын
oh ok i see what you mean. i am working on jack stands and currently taking off the cats but these 3 bolts per cats aren't the easiest haha. hmm would you know if you welded them onto the 3 bolt flange the stock cats have? trying to think how that would look with the elbows welded to the triangle flange of the cat.
@mustangmunoz86 жыл бұрын
yes please some pictures would definitly help out. i would greatly appreciate it. also the passenger side looks a lot harder than the driver side. all those cooling lines don't look fun to work around with. if you could snap some pics of that side id greatly benefit from that my email is vanny.munoz93 @ gmail.com thanks again
@otisV26 жыл бұрын
grindordie I can’t remember exactly man it’s been a few months and I was kinda in the shadows while that part was going down. I just remember my buddy taking the cats off, welding them elbows onto the assembly. I don’t have a lift or jack stands at this house or I would lift it up and check for u

Otis X TM Awh okay I got a impala ss 95 n I wanna add more horse power but also keep it stock I don’t wanna do nothing to crazy wanna have it up to 300 hp at least
@otisV25 жыл бұрын
Salomon Diaz oh okay well for starters man you could go with headers, gears and a stall. That’ll make the car feel 300lbs lighter. 3.73 gears and a 2800 stall converter would be a nice upgrade. Then if your looking for more power after that look into upgrading your valve springs and rockers, that’s an easy 30HP right there.

Thank u bro ✊
@BornToBeFamed5 жыл бұрын
Salomon Diaz dont be fooled. I have a chart showing lt1’s real power. Lt1 went up in compression every year . 94-96 all made 10:1-10:4:1 compression gm lied about the lt1 they make 300hp crank stock . Just like the lt1 easily makes 350 crank hp. The dyno number prove gm was lying. Headers and cam and gear will make any lt1 or ls fly lol
