My wife was extremely lucky twice in two months back in 1995. Shortly after she arrived in Japan for a two-month study, she briefly stayed with a family in Kobe. On the night of the very day she went to Tokyo to prepare others for a visit to Kobe, the great Kobe Earthquake struck. The roof caved in on the bed in which she would have been sleeping. Not long before she left Japan almost two months later, she took her usual subway ride. If she had been delayed by five minutes or less, she'd have been on the same train that terrorists attacked with fatal clouds of Sarin gas.

How do you find these moments? It's one suspense thrill after the other! I love you guys. I'm no world traveler, but I'd bet the moment at 2:46 happened in a country that has a sense of shared community deeply woven into its culture. I use the word "sense" to point out the gentleman's 1. awareness of his surroundings, and 2. his automatic snagging of the kid off her crashing bike, all without missing a beat in the conversation he was having. So many of these videos are better appreciated when standing on their own.
