95 mile cruise overnight to Marathon Florida outside passage in Atlantic Ocean

We left Miami Florida at 6pm and arrived in Marathon the next day around 11:30 AM. Perfect weather window appeared so the planned itinerary was altered slightly. Molly and I made it outside Angelfish Creek around midnight, a beautiful, remote and shallow inlet just north of Key Largo, and proceeded South West on a close reach / beam reach overnight. We averaged 6 knots for that Atlantic Ocean stretch with 2-3 foot seas building to 4 ft seas by mid day in 13-20 knot breeze. Had the mainsail reefed and the Genoa furled in partially for the majority of the passage.
Smooth sailing aside from one close call with a Hawk channel green marker which surprised me as I sailed right by it unknowingly. Lesson learned to keep your eyes out for all known obstacles when sailing overnight.

Very good video. I liked your beginning telling us what you were going to do and your summation of the trip after you got there. The filming of the cruise itself had very good shots and captured the feel of the passage. As always your drone footage was stunning! Keep up the great work.

Yes a 1994 IP 40. She's a great blue water boat with a lot of available sail plans given the cutter rigging.
