I mean, I'm glad Mari did this. Someone needed to speak on it, bruh been drama whoring this whole Dizzy/Jamar situation for views(on his secondary channel no less haha). I think it’s so sad such a great community has to deal with this drama, I can only imagine how draining it is for every artist within this community to hear things like this. When I was a kid I didn’t like rap because I didn’t like the topics that artists would rap about. I always felt so disconnected with the artists because they never spoke about my interests. But since I’ve discovered nerdcore, majority of the music and artists have brought me out of dark places, made me feel confident in myself and made me feel welcome in this amazing community through the music and strong bonds of friendship within nerdcore. To me every nerdcore song is a real hip hop song, because I get real excitement from each song release!

Purely out of selfish satisfaction I am very glad for this track cause to say it how it is, Scru been kinda pissin me off But again I am but a mere nobody although I do wanna use the hashtag here I will not as he also said to use it to fake reactors and the bear is pretty genuine even if he holds himself out of the situation. Scru has been a little corny projecting his view of what IS Hiphop but I didn’t expect this. I get it though. Not all of hip hop is battle rap.”

intersting how some call anime rap not real rap ... well yah its based off of anime but funny how these "anime rapper" still find a way to make the music relatable , more so than alot of modern rap and hip hop. just because an artist isnt rapping about your history does not make it invalid content . i find it more skill full for a writer to write rap or hip hop in a form that can reach multiple cultures / communities like most of yall do !

You're right on how this argument is not really that logical because it's good to weigh your opinions especially if your opinions come from the rap world if like somebody's anime rapper and somebody like a quote unquote real rapper that doesn't make a difference rap is rap hip hop is hip hop it doesn't matter what you're wrapping about it matters if you can spit bars

I could be wrong, but ever since it dropped/put together, scru has been getting real weird about anime rap not being real rap and has been trying to instigate a lot of shit. Not that it wasn't there from time to time before, but it's been increasing a lot in consistency. It feels like every other reaction from him these days has been "real hip hop this" "Rap needs this this and that." Which is fine from an industry perspective I guess with his background, but this community of rap isn't industry, and he doesn't seem to understand that. TLDR; Since the track dropped, Scru has been trying too hard to push his brand of rap on a community that isn't about what he deems is correct and Mari got sick of it.

I don’t know how to feel about scru, I mainly watch his reaction videos for nerdcore artists and then he made a second channel for them which is fine to do if he reacted to all nerdcore on their. I don’t know why rustage reactions are on his main channel and not the lit channel which has all the other nerdcore artists but that’s up to him. Then the next thing that scru has upset me with is that he isn’t paying attention to the songs or the artists as much as I see other reactors do. A very good example is the cross guild song because he listened to the whole song thinking it was a Connor quest song with a couple lines from rustage and shwabadi on the chorus until the end of the song when it showed who was rapping each character then only rewinded it a bit to realize that rustage rapped buggy and then was like “I’ll have to give it a second listen to figure out who rapped where” the first time I listened to cross guild it took me a couple of minutes and a lot of backing up to figure out who had who, except rustage that was easy. To me it feels like scru enjoys only rustages songs enough to keep him on the main channel and then gives half hearted reactions to the rest of nerdcore, I am saying all this without seeing scru’a reaction to this song but I might just unsubscribe from scru’s channel

Dizzy owed Jamar Rose a verse on a song, but he never gave it to him. So instead of just talking to him over the phone or something, Jamar Rose made a diss track called "Nerd Control" calling him out. In this song, he calls out Dizzy a bunch as the diss track is about him specifically but he also called out Mix Williams and Mari. However near the end of the song he calls out other Nerdcore artists. However, All he did was list off names like DPS, FabvL, Shwabadi and more, one after the other and claim he was better than them. That's literally it, that's all he did. but a bunch of people started making responses to it and blowing it way out of portions. Scru Face Jean especially hyped the hell out of it. However, claiming you're better than someone is just normal rapper stuff. So the whole thing is just pointless drama over a single verse

I used to watch Scru a lot. But in the last year and a half or so, he's gotten a real air of arrogance towards the stuff he reacts to. I remember with DPS's Kenpachi track, he got real huffy because "murder on my mind" was a phrase used in some other artist's song, as if the phrase was trademarked or something. And quite a few times, he's made some comparison to his own career immediately after saying he liked a certain part of a song. Like "that was a bar, but when me and so-and-so were on tour..." as if he was somehow at the top of the game. He barely even does nerdcore. And I'd be surprised if anyone in the "real hip-hop" scene even knows his name. Make good nerdcore music. Then you can tell nerdcore artists what their scene needs to have.

Anime Rap/Hip Hop is its own genuine form of music. It differs greatly to normal Rap and Hip Hop due to it having a defined Character or Anime as its source and subject matter (usually an Anime or Character that we as listeners are very familiar with) This makes a song connect with its audience even if it is not musically or lyrically very good. Normal rap or hip hop usually requires a known artist or a decent relatable lyrics to be appreciated by its audiences but this genre also has a ton of wannabes desperate to be relevant in the industry and doing stupid things to become so. If you want to be relevant in the Anime Rap genre you just create content and upload. If its good content then you get views. If its bad you dont. Please dont bring real world crap into this universe that at its heart is 100% fictitious but in our hearts is 100% real and thriving. On i side not i thought Mari's response was on point.
