Deron was the soul of CKY.
@shadowangel2235 Жыл бұрын
That was obvious when The Phoenix sounded like ultra-generic hard rock, without any soul, riffs or meaningful lyrics

Definitely. This sounds more like CKY than the new CKY sounds like CKY

Agree. CKY isn't CKY without Deron's voice and riffs. That's what made CKY.

I slept on the first album, and the band until someone told me “no, check them out, it’s like CKY, back in the day CKY.” I was not disappointed. Holy sh*t this kicks ass!

I was reminiscing listening to Foreign Objects and CKY, only to just find out Deron is still creating original music. An excellent composer and musician who is dedicated to his music. I can’t wait to delve in.

There's just nothing like a Deron Miller riff. Playful yet vengeful. Bouncy and sharp. They tickle me, oh so sweetly.

Dude, he's the reason I want a BOSS OC-5 pedal for guitar. The "vintage" monophonic mode is a dead-on copy of the OC-2 sound, plus it's got an octave-up doubler in addition to the 1 and 2 octave down's, a switch near the power jack for guitar and bass modes (to optimize tracking for the respective frequency ranges of those instruments) and a direct out for wet/dry signal splitting. Oh, and I should probably mention something else about it, and this is getting super tech nerdy, but it's got the same digital note tracking engine as their synth pedals.

I wish Deron would let someone remix everything he has put out with 96BB. Not a single one of these songs have any bottom end, and they're all just a little bit too clean. I'm not saying he needs to bring it as low or make it as muddy as CIG did in CKY, but there's a middle ground.

Not even trying to talk like that about shit but think about it, his riffs and vocals like that signature distortion with vocals bro was ahead of his time too ngl. Music like this never got recognition because it wasn't shower singer music. this is 🔥 do these on tiktok fam small clips you can chop up songs into clips 60 second clips speed up a song or something monetize that shit

More bands should do stuff like this. It's interesting to watch even if you're someone like me who can't play guitar for shit.
@Rickyslayer66912 жыл бұрын
This is why i love this band so much, their new material is fresh and unique, they interact with their fans, they make guitar video lessons. For me this is just perfect. I started playing guitar when i was 14 but after h.s i kinda stopped playing or not as often. And stayed at same level for many years. I've always loved cky but didn't know deron had made new band until i discovered 96BB, this is music i can actually play at my intermediate level. I feel 96BB has made me realize what i was missing in my life, playing guitar. Has helped me mentally and emotionally. Seeing them live was a life changing experience.

I just watched a video explaining the fall of my childhood fantasy that was CKY. (R.I.P.) I do not blame anyone. But finding out about the existence of 96 {quite} Bitter Beings was glorious. Because now from the efforts of 2 GOLDEN bands I can still hear the best of both worlds that sadly will never exist again and sadly never playing together simultaneously. Volume 1!
@dishman46942 жыл бұрын
P. S. 96 Bitter Beings sounds so much crisper and real than CKY could have ever imagined.!

That's the video that brought me here too and I'm glad it did. I just assumed Deron imploded somewhere and I'm thrilled to see he's been writing new music. Hopefully other similar geniuses like Michael Keene are somewhere taking notes

Sick. Obviously it's sick. Always been a fan. But..... his guitar strap is going over his shoulder the wrong way. Unless Deron prefers it this way.
@Rickyslayer66912 жыл бұрын
I deleted my previous comment because it was incorrect, I'm guessing the guitar strap position prevents neck dive. Meaning the neck doesn't dive down when lets go of the neck.
@deadspeak11262 жыл бұрын
What is the benefit of using a baritone for basic tunings?
@KennethHunter Жыл бұрын
I don’t think there was conscious intent on using a baritone but with that being said, baritones track rhythm guitars very well as the tuning holds great
@deadspeak1126 Жыл бұрын
@@KennethHunter Thank you Ken. I tried asking Derron on live, he didn't seem to care about the scale length either.
