I was interested in doing the control arms replacement myself but after watching you i decided to pay . My TJ 1997 may have similar issues and i cannot afford to be down because it is my daily ride. Thank you and take care.

Thanks Cesar! Yeah, mine is a daily driver also. I didn't expect one bolt to hold me off. I could have done it all in one evening. If you don't have the right tools, it would be even harder. Thanks for watching and good luck!

Good video Steve. Fyi..go to harbor freight and get a couple of cheap moving pads to throw on the ground when working like that. So much more comfortable and easier on the knees getting up and down.

I will drop my tj off next week. Let you replace all 8 arms on it. You should be good at this now.

Have you taken the frame out to sandblast and powered coat? I am thinking of doing this to my 05 LJ.

No, I haven't. I have sprayed a little black paint around but need to do a lot more. Thanks for watching

Oh man, Steve! In so many ways.... Thanks for the how-to. Front Control Arms are definitely in store for TDRS. The bushings look a lot like TDSR's. I wasn't looking for it before, but after seeing the fits JJ gave you - and JJ's got a lot less rust - makes me really leery. I'll get new cam bolts before I even start! Also sad to see the news on the camera. I thought you were going to say that someone swiped the SD card while it was sitting on the road! Bummer that the footage is so close, yet gone. About how long do you think the 4 arms took you? How's the ride afterwards? Keep up the great content - all of us with the ol' 4-banger TJs appreciate it!

Thanks Ed! Replacing the control arms aren't that bad. I did have to strap to the axle to get the bolts in on the passenger side. Not a big deal. I say 2 hrs if I had the cam bolt on hand. Tha counts replacing the bushing on the axle. Can't really tell a difference. May drive a little tighter than before. Thanks for the support!
