So I was so thrilled to try a Dutch pour on a large wood MDF round. I am pretty sure I am going to make this one into a clock when it’s finally finished. So stay tuned for a future video where I show you how I finish it off! When I stopped recording this video I wasn’t quite happy with it. The ends were so vibrant and colourful but the middle was just not doing it for me. So yup, I scraped it. I tried to save it by scraping parts of it, but it just wasn’t working. So I started all over again! Stay tuned for my next video in a few days to see attempt #2!
What do you think? Did you like this piece? I LOVED the composition but it was the middle colours that I just couldn’t live it. Let me know your thoughts!

From an artistic standpoint. Her artwork is amazingly abstract,organic,fluid,and unique. Not blowing on it,as many have commented,would not achieve this final result.Also the technique she uses,blowing with her mouth,allows her to control the exact direction and force with which the paint will be pushed and watch the design unfold accordingly.If she was to use a different blowing method,as many suggest, she would not have the same control over the creative process and it would produce different results. To tell an artist that you preferred their work if it was different or when it looks a certain way or before they changed it in some manner, is an insult and it just amazes me as to why so many would make such insulting comments especially to a woman who is so gracious in sharing with us her incredible talent.

I love this! Looks incredible and interesting! If this were to be a clock. I would put my favorite side of the paint, matching my favorite hour of the day. For example my favorite hour of the day is midnight, and my favorite part of the painting is where the unexpected rainbow colors popped out, so, that side would be the side the would be on the 12 o clock for my midnight favorite hour. The just what I would do. And once again, I LOVE IT

I just grabbed my old hair drier, which doesn't have any attachments. I can only run it on high, or low heat. I made my own attachment, using a paper towel roll (TP roll works too!). I cut it to the desired length, & duct taped it to the end, then squished it a little bit to make a duck bill shape. It works great for my Dutch pours! Most of my tools come from the cupboards, dollar stores, yard sales, & the toy box!

I sometimes wonder why something comes out really nice looking. Then the artist starts to "play" with the art until the initial look is lost and the final result, while nice, isn't as dynamic or it loses something that makes it sort of "dead."
@KanellaCiracoArt
@KanellaCiracoArt 5 жыл бұрын
i see what you're saying and can understand your point of view... but sometimes we artists have to manipulate (or play as you said) as there is lots of colour hiding underneath other layers of paint - so sometimes its necessary - other times it's not :)

Australia says Pebeo the way you did before correction. Now I have to call them and ask. I love the copper you added. I like my Dutch Pours just how you did it with the hair dryer. Not the bits you blow out with your mouth. I like solid colour to the edges, I only blow if little part needs it but I would have had branches coming off the first line. Thank you.

The process is amazing. Kanella's personal artistry is quite evident (this is not just another paint splatter). 🤔 If you wouldn't mind a suggestion... (I don't explain myself well... I need visual examples... 😕 Picture some1 putting a puzzle together on a snack tray. The 4 sides of the tray have an attached wood frame (so the pieces don't fall off??? 😕) Anyway w/ that visual in mind - Maybe you could get a large enough piece of wood - to set on the table you are using. That you would have plenty of room for any of your creations. It wouldn't have to be thick or strong (you already have your tables support. Then... Attach a couple of small hinges to the four 5" - 6" (or higher) pieces of wood - making the raised frame. That way, they could lie flat until you need to lean in close for the more tedious work protecting your clothing. When you said you were getting paint all over your cloths, I got a visual of a little gardening wagon. When they needed to carry larger items, they would trip the sides. I hope I wasn't too complicated that I lost you. This is my first time seeing your work, I look fwd. to many more of your creations

Where did you get the large rounds? In pottery we have several kinds of excellent turntables. I have a problem with overworking or using too much paint. So I’m trying to simplify from the beginning. This work is lovely. It has to cover a large area. It has a lot of fingers Maybe if these were combined into larger ones, rather than so many single ones.

Hi there... love your work. I'm a newbie so please excuse my query. Why did you cover the colours with the white before blowing it out instead of blowing the colours out directly? Just learning, so I'm curious. Thanks so much.

Beautiful work, I love the freedom of these. It makes the style of my art seem so controlled and anal in comparison. My family would scream at me for even trying something like thing. I can here it now. Fire?!? Pouring that much paint is a waste!!! Your just making a mess! We didn't PAY for 5 Years of Art School For you to waste your time! Ugh!!!!! Truly thing is beautiful and stunning! Keep it up!

I think you should definitely make a clock out of it! As far as the color scheme, it came out MUCH differently than I thought it would. The "bottom" where you liked it best I totally agree...beautiful! It reminds me of a peacock for some reason. The ONLY tiny part I didn't care for was at the "top" there were large cells and I wanted to blow on that spot through the screen to make them a little smaller lol! But other than that, love it! I didn't know what to expect. I honestly have never painted before in my life, but to be honest, watching your videos is seriously making me want to take up painting. I need a hobby so bad and the type of painting you do seems fun and like you can't really mess it up. Its not like creating a landscape or a fruit bowl. I'd be horrible at that. This is just putting your colors on a canvas and blowing them around however you like it. You can't do it "wrong." Thanks for the motivation!

using silicone IN the paint is TOTALLY different than using silicone tools. The tools do not affect the paint or the canvas... but the actual silicone OIL does...
