6:55 Be carefully with moving the desoldering iron on the pad so much. It happened to me, that I cut the trace to the pad because of too much moving and force to the iron. 🤦♀️ It depends on the board, some have very tiny traces.😊

you are right. if we rotate the desoldering tip while pressing hard on traces, it may damage the traces. or if the temperature is too high, it may result to separate the bonding of traces. otherwise, using desoldering tool, it is necessary to rotate the pin in the cylinder to free-up the solder to flow easily, otherwise if the solder remains in the gap between pin and cylinder, it will make dry joint and it becomes difficult to remove it in second attempt

yes sir as you mentioned the board quality, that is also a big point to be kept in mind while rework moreover, soldering temperature and soldering time matters a lot,
@t1d100 Жыл бұрын
Well done, sir. Each type of component requires a specific desoldering strategy. I use the word "strategy" with purpose, because prior thought and planning are required to prevent additional damage. One should not rush to begin. I have not encountered a device package such as this. But, I may have approached it slightly differently. (We all have our own skills.) For those folks that do not have a desoldering gun... Because the IPM's pins are quite long, I may have attempted to desolder the outer pins one at a time and just gently bent them up. This may have freed up enough space to desolder the inner pins without the use a gun. Another thought... To protect the new part from over heating when installing it... On the long pins, place a blank alligator clip (no wire attached) next to the chip's body to act as a heat sink. Because the pins are so long, the extra mass may protect the chip without increasing the soldering dwell time. Trial and error are necessary, here. There are special alligator clips that have a flat bill and no teeth. They are better, for this purpose. I also discovered your method of staggering the pins, when soldering, to reduce the heat intensity in any one location. I can testify that this method works well. HTH. Another great video = thank you. Cheers, my friend!

Sir, I am troubleshooting one of my emergency lighting circuit, while switching ON the power the relay is not getting changed over due to voltage present at relay coil followed base voltage available at transistor. Base voltage has to withdraw while power in ON condition. Its not happening. Due to wat reason it is like this.

Students and hobbyist would not have the budget for these expensive vacuum pumps, just mask off the board and use a solder sucker as an economical alternative.
