97cm FLATHEAD! fish of a lifetime

fishing the tailor schools with vibes and bait. So many big flathead landed and a few varies other species.

Nearly all my rods are 2-5kg, my favourite for value for money at moment are the Abu Garcia veritas 7ft 6-10lb around $60 they are a good all round rod

You seem to usually stay away from the edges and stick to the deeper channels, are you finding good bottom or marking fish on your sounder to choose a spot? Great content as always man, enjoy a watch after i knock off work.. Tight lines mate

I try and time it so doesn't hit the bottom ideal technique lift 2mtrs then relift when just about to touch bottom, it's a feel thing touch bottom didn't lift quite quick enough

Yes they are more forgiving, cast further and easier to keep fish away from boat. I really like the shimano terez 7,2ft 10-20lb

Hey Luke, thats the biggest flatty I've seen caught in the last 2 to 3 years I've been fishing Lake Mac. I've heard some stories, but never actually seen one. If only you could have stretched her another 3cm😄. Good to know they are still out there hiding in a few spots
