It's a very common idea but does not work this time as the Knight on c3 can take the pawn. If Rook was on a1 then this idea would work as the Knight would be pinned.

Hi, i have a question,in game 3 If you want to trade the light squared bishop anyway, why not just go to g4, why go to f5 then e4 to chop the pony

If we go to g4 white can play Knight-e5 preventing the trade. By moving to e4 we can trade it for either the Knight on f3 or bishop on g2.
