Because you are matched up with guys suffering from an Elo tilt so basically, they are better than 700s, but they lost at 900s level so back to old school.

There's also different types of 700s. Some people are hard stuck, whereas some are simply pretty new and on their way up. I started last summer around that range and now I'm pushing for 1600. I wasn't below 1000 for very long though, maybe a month?

I feel this way too much. I rarely get out with anyone who plays the game _really_ badly, and colossal mistakes that swing the game from +5 to -5 (or vice versa) seem to almost never occur. And when they do occur, it's always me that does them.

Seriously i cheated once (when I was around 850) and i felt so bad afterwards I realised how much wrong it is, it did not improve my chess. Today I am frustrated and stuck at 1300, but still I am happy because I reached there myself.

Quite a few of us would actually play the last game with white similarly to the cheater. Why? The Nelson bot (now called Junior I think) plays this crap regularly with black, and in the aftermath of our Nelson games we can see the computer analysis and learn how to punish this setup.

The problem with cheating is that you can make it undetectable. There is no person or system from the outside who could determine for certain if several (and therefore not a whole line) moves were copied from an engine.

It's funny. I played somebody yesterday in a 2 game match. I beat them in the first game and then they offered a rematch and we played a second game. During the second game they accused me of cheating, said I was playing like a GM, and then proceeded to absolutely destroy me. They were immediately banned for cheating after the second game. When i checked game review, their opening and middlegame were both above 96% accuracy. I guess a lot of people just get mad about losing and then start cheating lmao.

At low elo you should be losing half your games. Your competition is selected based on being your skill level. If you win more than half, your elo will go up and you'll equalize to losing half the time, but your elo will be higher. If you win more than half then you're playing only players less good than you. That's not possible for players under 1200.
