@Red1986GTStang ..The ' 96-'97 are basically the same. The '98 has a different fuel pump , computer , and of course the wheels are '95 Cobra R variations. The dash differs due to no clock pod in the middle of the dash top.

+Dillon Hughes 94/95 yes it was the 5.0 pushrod but with a different intake heads (gt40)and I believe cam. but in 96 Ford put in the mustang the 4.6 32v teksid motor. it awesome go look at the pics for the 4.6l 2v vs. the 4.6 4v somebody at ford decide to make it do the whole damn engine bay was full lol

BigRiggerJ, what year is your mustang? If it is more than 15 years old you can get special tags like antique (i think). With them tags you can have loud exhaust and the cops will leave you alone

it seems fast and all but you say you pulled on a S/C mach 1? whats all done to your yours to make that? my 04 gt will take an all motor mach 1 and any non s/c'd cobra but with what you listed at the end i dont think it would pull a mach. a stock mach 1 for sure but not a boosted one.

They're called HISTORIC tags and your car has to be 20 years+ for them, it allows you to not have to goto state emissions too. My car is a 92' 5.0 foxbody and another rule with the historic tags is only weekend driving, Once my car is outta the shop it will be driven mainly just to work and back...

@eclipes0013XbxLive For the 00-04 GT absolutely. I have a 2000 GT and when I drove a friends V6 it was so slow by comparison. And the difference between the 99-04 GT and the 04-04 Cobra is SUBSTANTIAL. The 03-04 Cobra is an absolute animal. If you can get an 03-04 Cobra instead of a GT then DO IT. The 03-04 Cobra has 390hp/390 ft/lbs, while the GT only has 260hp/302 ft/lbs. If you can, absolutely go for the Cobra... unless you're 16 and it's your first car, in that case don't go beyond a GT.

Unfortunately this car is not as fast as you would think. I am not hating or anything but I have a 98 cobra with 4.10 gears just like in this vid and the speedometer is way off because of the gearing. It not only reads too fast but “winds up” too fast as well. It reads 60mph when the gps says 40 and reads 90 when the gps says 63.

+James Walker they can sound pretty close. many beastly sounding 2v's out there. it's all about the exhaust. try hearing a gt with an x an stingers or atks ect.
