Those are some nice 'toys' in that shed!! The centre caps worked out really well. Love watching stuff like this where you create something unique 'by hand'. The old way!! Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

It sucks they took Shop class out of school, We had all the stuff we'd dream to have in our shops today. We played around with so much cool stuff back then, we made custom brake levers for our dirt bikes & all sorts of cool things. It's no wonder kids today graduate & can't find a decent job, they have No skills. Thanks for reminding me how old I am!! 😂

Rays set up is a beauty, we did this at school using VVW engine blocks for metal but used wooden forms for the pourer and riser and rammed the sand around them, green island sand it was a dark greenish colour.

It's been a long time, let's see if I can remember some of it, the flax has a bottom and a top, the bottom is the drag, the top is the cope, where you pour the metal is the sprue, from the sprue is the runner. The screen part is the riddle, the tool he had to pound the sand we used a shovel handle and it was cut about 18 inches

When you do the finish on the center caps, mark them secure them in your vice between two pieces of wood and cut the excess away with a good hacksaw then finish shaping with some good files.... round and flat files.
