I´ve grew up watching Dick Van Dyke ( chitty chitty bang bang and mary poppins were my childhood movies) , dancing, singing , acting and being marvelous. His energy and vibe are so amazing that its impossible not to pay attention on him on screen. Great guy , very magical indeed.

The old b&w films were notorious for that and it just came out kind of Aussie 😀 At least it sounded like that for us.

When I was a kid I saw Mary Popins and I didn't like it. My Virgo mind, when I was 14 years old, could assume to take flight on a carpet, even with a red cape like Superman, but with an umbrella... Well, at 64 years old, I saw the movie again and I was able to fly. Mrs. Andrews is the best thing that has happened to theater and music and cinema since forever. What a pleasure to watch her in any movie playing with the camera. We admire, love and respect you so much...

His English Accent was laughable though. I found his accent very distracting when I was kid watching this, because I could not tell where he was from and had to ask my Dad and when he said Missouri, America, I instantly understood why he didn’t sound English and it was especially obvious because he was working besides an Englishwoman (Mary Poppins) who had an upper class English accent (Toffs accent)
