First, they cried because they were too fast to choose an HC. Now they're crying because they're taking too long for an OC for their liking SMH. Bertrand is getting to be a lot like Felger now.

I am so glad that these clowns are getting zero info from inside the Pats' organization. This is how it should be. Eliot Wolf must be being kept under lock and key. And that is also how it should be.

That’s how it used to be. Quiet transactions

The only coach in Mayo’s staff that kept it professional and somewhat effective was AVP. Covington and Wolf should’ve been fired immediately after the dumpster fire their respective responsibilities were.

You shouldn't be surprised at all. Long hours of planning strategy, looking around inside the organization for the appropriate people; looking outside the organization for the right people, and analyzing how to put the insiders and outsiders together to plan and scheme and re-organize takes time, Baby. The quietness avoids having to retract spoken words. (Didn't we hear enuf of that with the Mayo administration?) No retractions at this time....only ATtractions to attract good players and trade deals!

Can anyone articulate why we would move off of AVP without sounding stupid? His work with Maye was A+. To disrupt the progress he and maye made is certifiable.
@ryansullivan7111Күн бұрын
The offensive coordinator’s job is more than working with the qb. They were near the bottom of the list in every offensive category. A lot of that is because of poor talent but his offense isn’t super innovative. You have a new coach with premiums assets (young qb, a lot of cap space, good draft capital), you can open the search again and I feel you will attract better names than your 12th option.
@Joe_benningКүн бұрын
The solution is to keep AVP on as offensive assistant/qb coach and bring in someone who can actually scheme up a game plan that isn’t reminiscent of football in the 1960s
@EastieRickКүн бұрын
He’s not experienced enough to be OC and a new Coordinator may or will not want it done his way and if your talking about him being Qb coach well that’s mechanics and knowing how to play that system. These guys are pros the media is making more of the position being ridged than what it is.
@AndreLeitedaSilvaGaldinoКүн бұрын
A+? Really ?Based on what? I get try to keep AVP but to say his work was A+ is bordeline insane...
@Eggy79Күн бұрын
If your A+ work is 1-9, then that's just gross. I don't care how much talent you have. What about the offense inspired you? They didn't even remotely get the most out of the little talent they did have. The QB play has sucked for so long that you just want to call a slightly ok season by Maye as A+ because it wasn't a disaster. You can do better than Alex Van Pelt.

How many teams are running to make McDaniels their OC
@juliandavis6140Күн бұрын
How many times are we going to bring back McDaniels? We need to get a younger OC from one of these high powered offensive systems who can usher us into the future. Mayo, Vrabel, McDaniels. This franchise is stuck in the past. Wish we had hired Ben Johnson and gotten a fresh new regime that had no affiliation with Bill.
@MASIS83177Күн бұрын
Vrabel was only a player under Bill not a coach. Plus, Vrabel has made it clear he has a vision, and a plan to get this team back on path and knows what he's doing and is a proven coach. As much as I love Ben Johnson, it would've been a mistake hiring him over Vrabel imo

I love mcdaniels and actually think he is a great coordinator, terrible head coach. That aside i think its time to move on and do something else, cause how many wideouts failed in his system? How many players just couldnt get the offense? I remember alot and think its time to either bring back AVP or start from scratch, either or we gotta build the offensive line first and foremost and get a weapon or two, i think pop and boutte earned a shot this year and so maybe a wo1 and te2 if hooper doesnt come back. Personally i would love to trade back a few, pickup Campbell or banks and then trade back into the first and get tyler warren, acts as te2 and one day take over for henry.

I don’t understand what the problem with AVP was..
@Mooseman327Күн бұрын
Yeah, I know. The only coaches who seemed capable were AVP, QB coach McCartney, and the two special teams coaches, Springer and his assistant coach. You have to give the offensive line coaches a pass because of the crap they were forced to contend with. Remember, the previous O-line coach had a physical and nervous breakdown dealing with the lack of talent on the O-line. But all the defensive coaches, the WR coaches, and Mayo seemed to be in over their heads and outcoached every damn week by their opponents.

Bro, the Pats averaged 27.2 points per game in Mac’s rookie year! WTF are you talking about? He’s clearly not good as a Head Coach, but he is a master at designing offenses that are ultra creative and can adapt to any situation! Plus he’ll NEVER get another head coaching job, no matter how well Drake becomes or how well the Pats play. He’s the offensive Steve Spagnola! That would be huge to have someone that can be here for Drake long term! Go listen to Brian Hoyer talk about the drills Josh use to make them do for footwork! That’s the guy to fix, permanently, Drake footwork. He started regressing a bit and getting to tall and too deep in the pocket towards the end of the year!
