Can be found on ebay or amazon for about $50. Make sure it uses hard pipe from throttle body to filter!

I just bought an 04 Pontiac grand am se2 this week

I have an 04 grand am SE1, just did the spark plugs, wayyy overdue, huge difference in acceleration and power, got the car at 192,000 just changed them now at 240,000, car still works great, love it, not a whole crazy amount of power but still a lot of fun to drive, thinking of doing the struts, what would your recommend at this mileage, improvements wise?

@@o_Lovly in park/neutral they won't due to a limiter. But this won't cause anything negative unless something isn't hooked up.

​@KMaffittGAGT okay that makes a lot more sense. Also, the breather tube doesn't connect to anything, right? only the new metal part with the IAT sensor? One last question, can I just modify it into a short ram intake and not put it down by the washer fluid and instead keep it up where the old one was? I say this because I'm having a lot of trouble putting it through the hole with the washer fluid and think this might just be easier

@@o_Lovly from the back valve cover will go to the intake, otherwise you'll have a vacuum leak. And you can, however the air temp will be really high and cause it not run as well as it can.

3.4 v6. I only exclusively work on the v6 engines. however i believe theres ways to do something similar for the 4 cylinder.

@@officialyungtwizted3858 from what I remember. The only problem is they keep the filter inside the hot engine bay. You really should direct it into the fender well

@KMaffittGAGT hmmmmmmm. The issue is the map sensor. Like how would that even work where does that connect into the metal or whatever pipe for the intake.

@@officialyungtwizted3858 the map sensor is on the engine. You would be talking about the maf which the Pope would connect to, or the iat which the new pipe would provide a joke and grommet for.

Would you recommend an aluminum air intake over a nylon/polymer one?

I am assuming you are talking about the pipes and there wont be much of a difference at all, but aluminum is less porous, so the air would flow faster through it theoretically. But again, nothing you would ever notice.

What comes with it. The $50 one I see only has parts for a short ram. The 75-100 ones have the full length for the fender.

@@kishanwinston341 did you happen to get the black coated piping one? Was $80 and much better quality then the chrome plated. I used it in the more recent video on my daily. But yeah same procedure assuming it's a v6. Little less work lol

I would advise to avoid that at this time. Either grab an lx5 throttlebody from a junkyard or check out wot tech.

The billet one? No longer made, i just happened to score 3 used ones lol watch the different Facebook pages. They pop up once in a while anywhere from $100-$300. You can also check out the basic mods video where I talk about the lx5 throttle body little more budget friendly if you can grab one from a junk yard!
