99-07 Silverado power window conversion

Passenger side fix: If you look on the connector for the passenger side switch there’s a small black wire next to light blue. It will be marked “J” on the connector. Ground that wire and passenger controls will work. Thanks to those that shared this info with me.

I want to add that that some connections the wire that needs to be grounded will be dark blue and on others like the one in his video will be black but either way they need to be grounded. That will be the wire that is to the left of the Light blue wire directly on the "J". or 4th from the left of the connector. Your passenger switch should work.

I have 2 black wires on j with one goes to one of three door lock plugs as the other goes to the power mirror plug. If I wanted to add the mirror and locks with the power mirror then which wire would I ground

Just did my conversation. On the passenger I had the same issue. I ran a second ground and touch every pin till it worked. I believe it was the dark blue to ground that made it work. Use this video for most of the install. Thanks bro.

Doing this on my buddies 01. Running into an issue maybe it’s my fault cause I plugged the plug into the box but don’t have the bottom one should I unplug it and try re running wires? Or just cut it and add the relay in and hot wire them. I’m bout tired of the shit blowing up in my face😭😭 window motors are brand new I tested them before putting them in all was well but now when I hook up the green wire even when I got the black grounded to the small ones or the big one it heats the wire up super quick thanks in advance

Was The passenger switch faulty? Mine is doing the same thing. I can jump the motor, so I know it works. Did you run power to the green wire on the passenger side switch?

Do you mean light blue and tan? They connect to each other. You’ll have to run a wire from light blue on the driver side to light blue on the passenger side and do the same for tan.

@@yoitsdeezygaming8050 hmm did you change the connectors on the driver side motor? If so I would say make sure they’re crimped properly. Sounds like the switch itself is getting power, but the circuit sending signal to the motor is broken somewhere.

@@392Panduh i ended up doing a stupid mistake for the connector I wasn't plugged in all the way to the switch also in order for all switches to work they need to be grounded out same for passenger I took on the project and i also got power door locks and going to wire up my alarm system

Do you know how to wire for the power locks. Gutted the doors from an electric and got the harness so I have electric windows, the lock actuators for the doors too and already have the harness hooked up. All I did was give the windows power and ground without using the fuse panel since mine had no pins and I had to wire it directly. Do you know how I could also wire the locks directly like I did my windows. I also didn't use a relay

Hey i have 06 Silverado and I did the Oem conversation, I swap out the door hardness and door jams and dash hardness, I got the window to work and mirrors but my door lock switch don’t work, I have extra switches and I swap them but they all did the same thing. I heard u say something bout the bcm. After I swap everything in my truck and went to start it up it didn’t start bec of the bcm. I put my org. Bcm. From old dash and started right up.my question is do u think it could be the manual door bcm why my doors don’t lock button don’t work

No. The lock actuators need to be added and spliced in. Should be a simple two wire job though.

No, at the time I was only worried about having working windows. Looking back now, I probably could’ve figured out which wire activates the lights and connected it to the green wire.

The door panel itself will work. The important part is the switches. They MUST be from a 99-02 for it to work the way I did it. The 03-07 switches can’t be hard wired.

Carlos Lopez I got the pigtails from the junk yard when I pulled the door panels. The rest of the harness was made with 16 gauge primary wire from O’Reilly.

Everything is the same as the driver side except the additional ground needed on the passenger side.

Michael Sio No, I only wanted to add power windows. Now that I think about it though I probably could’ve gotten oem lock actuators and wired them up pretty easily while I was there, might look into it one day.

It can be done. The only part you’ll have to figure out is the window switches. The factory switches won’t work, so you’ll have to get some universal ones. It will be a little more work, and won’t look original, but cheaper than swapping in the harness from a factory power window truck.
