I don't understand why anyone would overlook any of the charms, strikes, or hot springs. What I think most players overlook is their travels outfit (also boosts material gains), hunting animals, and boosting their quiver. The travelers outfit, at full power also boosts resources. Killing deer and other animals gives you leather and predator hides. Finally... Here's the thing about the bow, the short bow and the long bow. There striking power doesn't matter. With the short bow, even with no upgrades, a head shot to an unhelmeted head is an instant kill shot. The long bow kills anyone with a headshot, helmeted or not. But both only have so many arrows. To truely increase the effectiveness of either bow, they need more arrows, not damage per arrow. And for that you need to upgrade the quiver at a trapper.

Simple trick to remember which stance to adopt based on the PS5 controller: Spear (sharp & pointy)= Triangle. Shield (round & shieldy) =Circle. Twin swords (Erm… = X button for 2 crossed swords and finally Brute (massive & blocky) = Square button. Easy to remember. 👍

Fps do matter to have a fluid experience ... sure bragging about how many fps we got is kinda pointless but i do prefer enjoying the game at a good fps rather than shity ones ... especially when a few options can make a huge difference without destroying visual quality. For instance i'm running the game at around 144fps 1080p, pretty much everything on max settings except fog high, shadows high and fog medium as it look the best in cutscenes etc. i would hate to play at 60 or less with theses settings.

When exploring, there's a yellow bird that can help you discover things. Also, traveler's attire causes firefly to show up when nearby artifacts are around - use the flash and rumble frequency to find the artifacts.

Another good tip is that the smoke bombs don't just give you a way to escape if you're surrounded and being overwhelmed by a bunch of enemies; you can also use them offensively. The smoke bombs stun enemies and open them up to assassinations, which means you can get a one-hit insta-kill. I use this a lot to take out brutes. And if you have the Chain Assassination ability unlocked, you can use a smoke bomb to instantly take out three enemies in the middle of a fight. So let's say you're traveling to an objective and you see one of those random troops of Mongols going down the road, and there are like six of them. If you initiate a standoff and have the fully upgraded standoff streak, you can instantly take out three of them (or even five with the Sakai armor), and then when the other three close in, you can pop a smoke bomb and do a chain assassin to instantly take them out.

the way to remember stances on ps5 controller is that each button correlates with the specific enemy: X for 2 swords, O for shield, /\ is for spearmen, and [ ] is for brute. The developers made it smart and simple, this way you will never forget

Playing the flute changes the weather, based on the song you play. Also, to clear the fog of war efficiently, do the enemy camps colored with red to reveal area around them. If u do them all, it clears the fog in the whole region.

I completed GoT by just using the traveler’s attire on hard mode. Looks great, feels great with the right charms. (Mizu no kami, charm of silence, 2x charm of fortunate return and charm of fortune 1 and 2) I use water stance + heavenly strike. Perfect parry and HS for almost infinite resolve gain. Have fun.

I just finished my second playthrough on my PS5. If you are wondering when to go to Iki Island, I suggest going to the island when you are 1/2 to 3/4 finished the second act. What you get there is not only more skill points to use and some interesting amour but also abilities and armor for your horse. Play Iki to the end and collect everything you can (note one shrine you won't be able to complete until after the end of the second act due to an armor set you will get then and the shrines just give you some cool cosmetics).

This: This is the way. As soon as it opens go there. Your combat on Tsushima will improve and you will be able to leave Ikki with the horse armor, pirate armor etc. Extra arrows and ghost weapons on the horse really helps too

The smoke bomb is an underrated gem because if you have chain assassinate (which you most likely will) you can pop the smoke and take out 2-3 of the enemies instantly, including brutes. Whenever I’m in combat I try to lead the enemies into surrounding me so I can do this. Adding the blindness upgrade will even make you able to pull off another chain assassination

One important thing to note is you can unlock 3 mythic tales in Act 1 that can help with combat. Heavenly strike, Tadayori’s Armor, and Uchitsune’s Bow are easy to obtain but the last two send you on a goose chase. You have to complete the first straw hat ronin mission to make the camp NPC mention Yamato being in hayashi for uchitsune’s quest, and I’m not sure if there’s a trigger for tadayori’s quest but you will eventually find an NPC at a camp/temple that will talk about “a singer in tsutsu” and have to go southwards of “Rustling Bend” Tadayori’s armor grants buffs to bows like concentration time And uchitsune’s longbow is helpful to have for its heavy and explosive arrows. Heavy arrows pierce helmets so you could one shot leaders, and explosive arrows are…explosive arrows. They go boom.

The quickest way to do minor forts is the family armor set. It gives extra stagger damage. Add a couple of stagger charm and perhaps damage charm. Walk up, draw you katana and go head on. Triangle breaks any enemy block or parry. So stagger, then double hit. Kunai when it gets crowded or for tougher foes. This speed up the game as you will do a minor Fort in 5 minutes instead of 20 if you're sneaking around.

Wind chimes also have a shrine reward that turn them into a poison bomb. Lure someone into a hidden spot, use it with that charm, you can wipe out entire bases with just chimes, especially since wind chimes are very commonly supplied in nearly all bases. Smoke bombs are also great early to mid game for mid combat triple stealth assassinations. Later on though, tougher enemies mess with that.

I think the first charm every player should get is Mizu-no-Kami at the Spring Falls Shrine right after the first stealth mission with Yuna. It's a short distance away, and can be a huge aid in learning parry and dodge timings.

Pretty sure that the only 'observable' leaders are the ones that are practicing their fighting. So you observe and learn their fight moves, basically. Pretty sure that the ones that are not practicing are not observable.

One more thing about wind chime is that there is a charm called Toxic Demise which allow your wind chime to be poisonous and pretty much kill enemy that step on it. 2 enemy itf they close enough. Pair with Ghost armor and others charm that boost % and terrify is definitely quite useful

If you want to win the Ikki tournament and defeat the eagle you got to learn ghost stances/long hold on x or y You have to learn how to time it. Smoke bomb is your best ghost weapon after it’s fully unlocked and you have chain assassination. You can one shot multiple enemies and the smoke actually heals you. It’s pretty much a cheat code if you get swarmed

As a guy who Platinum’d this game and replayed it way too many times out of boredom: Here’s some mistakes I did that I hope some people out there did as well lol 1. Don’t forget - you’re breaking your code. I always go in fights and YOLO everytime, and always forget I’m the Ghost with Kunais and WOTF. In most of my playthroughs, I rarely used my utilities, I don’t even use my bow. 2. Fully upgrading your tanto - Might as well save those extra resources for your katana rather than making your Tanto level 3. 3. Resolve’s More Important - unless you’re playing easy or medium diff; resolve’s going to help you more in harder difficulties. You can have max health in Hard or Lethal and you’ll die if you get hit 3 to 4 times. In my first playthrough(Hard), I deeply regret fighting Temuge with 5 resolve with the max health you can get in that act. I died so much in that fight. 4. Mizu No Kami charm. No explanation needed. Unless you’re good af. Played my whole first playthrough without even knowing this charm existed. Saved me a bunch when going for platinum.

Don't think it was mentioned but you can stack minor charms if you want to double it's effectiveness so for example if you have 2x Charms of Dual Destruction in your inventory you can use two slots to double it's strength. I remember thinking that 'oh this is just a duplicate that I don't need.

hey you forgot to mention that the windchimes can be poisonous too if you equip the Charm of Toxic demise. so when ever one or more enemies are close enough it will released a poison cloud that will kill them on the spot, I have taken up to 4 enemies with one single windchime it is very useful in large combat scenarios if you like playing stealth.

stances doesnt really affect Ranged enemy category. unless you go fancy on Wind Stance Typhoon kick.

Turn on loadouts in the options menu, that allows you to make a build per armos, so you dont have to spend long in the menu when you swap between fighting/sneaking/archery builds

Yay, Ark, you're playing GoT now too!! Just in time to be the calming voice of reasoned strategy. I'm almost 50 hours in now, and I cannot stress how much upgrading the short bow asap made a difference, along with tossing a couple of spec points in its skill tree. It's a godsend when farming for precious predator hides early on. The longbow does not come to you until many many hours in, and while it's a powerful beast it is more situational. Like the difference between the hunters bow and the sharpshooter in HFW. Always be gathering resources, follow the golden birds, and don't skimp on petting the sweet little foxes!

stances are important to learn and match, however switching back and forth can add for more lethality - fighting a swordsman near a cliff then uickly switching to spear stance to side kick him enemy off the edge..

One of the most satisfying parts of this game for me was switching between the stances for different enemies. Definitely messed up a few times but felt really good to get it right 😂

Kunai are good like that but the smoke bomb is great in heavy traffic for thinning out the numbers by using the quick assassination available. 3 dead instantly with minimal effort. Double up if you want and kill 6 for 2. Just want to be aware of the proximity. Not to entirely sure what the range is that they fall into when you trigger it.

I have Xbox elite with butterfly triggers and still used the left button to parry lol Very important: plug the controller in if you pc is elevated. I was getting input delay right under (my pc is close to the roof) it. Also don’t use your trigger short stops unless you adjust it. It slows down the right trigger menu and I have know idea why 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Just like in Horizon: Forbidden West, I like concentration builds. I built my bow in Tsushima so well I took out like seven men in one concentration. There's a charm if I remember that added three seconds to concentration from head shots. It was awesome. I need to play that game for a third time. I'm glad to see you talking about this game as well. ;)

Majority of enemies have a what I call a kill strike when they open them selves up with their weapon strikes. You strike right before they strike but you need the correct stance for it to work

Where do you unlock heavenly strike? I kind of want to know but kinda want to find it? But im like 8 hrs behind my buddy who started playong it before me but he doesnt do much exploring just to and from missions. I feel like ive uncovered more of the map but havent found the mission yet

Quick question. For the campaign, I have completed the first act halfway through the second. Does the game get harder? I want to prefix this by saying I love the game and even if it doesn't, that won't change my view.

If you get the iki island dlc, then you will definitely notice an increase in difficulty. As for the story, I found it fairly easy. I don't know what difficulty you are playing on, but when I did my second playthrough, I did it on a higher difficulty, and it was much more fun than my first. It felt challenging but not impossible.

@MillerTheOriginal OK if you enjoyed Ghost of tsushima, I would highly recommend the dlc. It has a new map, new mechanics and enemies and it's just a great dlc.

What’s the point of using an armor that reduces damage if everything is a one shot on the hardest mode? Genuine question I want to run through it again on that difficulty
