So I was digging around trying to find information on "how to pitch" and this came up. Really inspiring words and I got way more than I bargained for. The moment he talked about not being motivated by money and finding freedom? Hit home. Thanks.

Mr. Zicree, I am so touched by your humbleness and amazing personality, that I actually didn't know anything about "Space Command" before. But, after watching this video I went and googled it and then watched every single youtube video related to it. Best wishes to you and everyone working on that wonderful project and can't wait to see what your next project is!!!

The thing that resonated with me on this particular interview was the aspect of following through. When you say you're going to do something, do it. I always wanted to make a short film, so I finally did it. I don't know what anyone else thought about it, but I had an absolute blast working on the project by myself and am finding myself searching for more and more advanced levels of support & advice from videos like this now.

What he saying is what is true for anything. Most people I know don't do what they say they are going to do and no integrity doesn't necessarily achieve anything. The reality is that the discernable reasons for success don't exist other than the successful have won the blessings of their associates. They do so by cursing everyone else. In other words, it is like anything else a brutally competitive game where there are few rules and the rules change on a dime.

An amazing idea to talk to the entourage instead - especially doing the homework, so you don't pitch the bodyguard!

J.J. Abrams may be a nice man but he has no clue how to tell a story. He can do set-ups but he has no idea what the payoffs to his own mystery boxes are. He's still a better filmmaker than Rian Johnson though and I'll give him props for outright admitting that he screwed up by having Leia hug Rey in TFA. At least he's willing to learn from his mistakes.
