Good content. Regarding the Third tip, it is actually an indirect effect of high ratio. (not that left and right signals are being merged by the ratio knob) e.g. You can simply reduce the level to make any sound to be perceived as mono. As the volume is increased stereo separation is more noticeable. nonetheless I am sure there are other things in your specific example that are making the signal to be perceived as mono. its a very intricate topic and a lot can be discussed.
