Looking forward to the test drive! Would a largish water separator fuel filter with water drain be okay before the group k fuel pump?

My 2000 XR1800's pre mixed fuel goes through the Group K air separator, then tee's and each engine has a Napa Gold 3225 Fuel Filter/Water separator. Not sure what you mean by the "group k fuel pump?" or why you would have the filter before the Group K air separator.

@@Jason-zp4ly the group k fuel air separator kit includes an electric facet fuel pump which Mel talks about in the video. This assists the fuel pump in each carb, so the 270 in the video has 7 fuel pumps

@@jasons4745 yes, a diaphragm pump for each carb and the electric fuel pump prior to the air separator. Sorry didn't understand you were referring to the electric pump as a "Group K" electric fuel pump.

The voltage regulator did not do the trick, unfortunately. I disconnected the fuel separator and the problem stopped BUT its now only reaching 6k rpm"s..

@@5StarPWC Well don't feel bad because your video fixed mine 100%. I changed the Voltage Reg and everything is back to normal! Boat is awesome again! Thank you for your help!

I have an LS2000 that is doing the same thing. If I drive it at 3k RPM it drives the whole day. but if I rev it to 5k or 6k it rides for like 3 or 4 minutes and then dies. I can let it sit for a minute and go and get the same result. do you think it is the voltage regulator too? any help would be appreciated.

@@Jason-zp4ly I was actually about to take appart the top end because I have the middle cyl with 90 PSI compression. I know I have to fix that Cyl but if that is not the problem At least I know what is next. I wonder if you can buy the voltage regulator new?

@@idronecharpifpv89 is the middle cylinder on the starboard engine? Just had my starboard engine rebuilt with the middle cylinder cracked and had to be replaced. Not sure about voltage regulator being new or not. Sure a Google search or just call 5 Star PWC and see if they have some available.

@@Jason-zp4ly on my case is the Port engine Middle Cyl. Compression is at 90psi on that one and 120 on the other two. I am just gonna bite the bullet and take a look at that Cyl. I have done the rebuild myself before so I know what I am getting into. I was just hopping for a miracle but I am pretty sure that I fried that Cyl. lol

Ok middle cylinder is just a ring. So I am inclined to the voltage regulator or the CDI but the CDI is expensive!! Can’t find it for less than $300! Auch!
