First Test Cruise 1997 Yamaha Exciter 220 Twin jet boat

Purchased a "cosmetic project" 1997 Yamaha jet boat, and after some days work on the cosmetics and rewiring and relamping the trailer, wanted to get it wet long enough to be sure the mechanical condition warranted more work on the cosmetics.
Boat ran and handled great, but is definitely a go fast, make spray, sheltered water boat, and not intended for SF Bay chop

does anyone know what each switch on the steering wheel is for? I've found horn, bilge, and lights. nothing else

From lett-to-right, port-to-starboard, the three to port are Blower, Bilge Pump and ACC (meaning, you can wire whatever you want there), and the three to starboard are ACC (same flexibility), Lights and Horn. My boat has a stereo wired to one of the ACC switches, I think the other is still a no-connect.

(I should add that if you can no longer read the symbols on yours, I replaced all of my "Rocker Switch Covers" with new ones from Pacer Group (just search "pacer group rocker switch covers") for like $7 a cover in 2019. There are a zillion "rocker switch covers" on Amazon, many of which I think would work, but these looked like, and turned out to be, the same ones Yamaha had used, they just popped right on. The part numbers I bought were ES2-ACC1, ES2ACC2, ES2-BLG, ES1-FAN, ES2-HRN and ES2-NAV, with the letters indicating what they were and from my email invoice is looks like I also bought a "Contura Switch Actuator Removal Tool" in the same order for like $3)

It's been a while, so I might not be remembering right, but I think I paid $3,500 at a time when all the other "Twins" I was seeing (the Exciters are available in one-engine/jet and two-engine/jet configurations, I wanted a two-engine/jet) were like $5,500 in "project" shape and like $7,500 and up in really nice shape. Mine was cheap because project cosmetically and not allowed to "start" the engines in the purchase, so assuming risk.

How fast were you leaving the Haber

I don't know the "real speed" once outside harbor, because the little water tube that drives the speedo had not yet been replaced, but we must have been hitting 25 knots plus ouside... in the harbor, I was coming just enough off idle to be able to steer, which I thought was a no-wake 5 MPH or so, but we got hollered at by one of the liveaboards for rocking his world, which never happens in our sailboat, so the thing must make a hell of a wake when it isn't up on plane.

Wish I could find our families old exciter! It was exactly like this one but with the decals still on, faded but on! And a small knick/ gelcoat cracking, on the upper right-hand side of the engine hatch.. man that thing was fun
