hey i bought a new m1 macbook air base model 12 days back and i am a bit worried about my cinebench scores as most of the people on internet are saying that they got 7400 multi core and around 1490 in single core but i can get around 6591 or 6604 in multicore and 1490 single core is something wrong please tell. Thanks.

Hi Amanda, thanks for the quick look. Maybe Cinebench has not been optimized for the chip architecture yet. In this case, the additional emulation step would slow the benchmark down. I have a question, though: how do you get along, when you strain the RAM (you’re on the 8 GB model, right?), i.e. open lots of apps, browsers with quite some tabs, maybe pic or even video editing? I’m having MacBook Air M1 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Cinebench single score is 1498 which is fine, but Multi Score is between 4900 -5300 when i tested 2-3 times. Why i’m having slightly low scores than shown on the internet. Do i have problems with hardware ? Please reply fast.

Honestly, there are a few things. are you testing with it plugged in? Is your MacBook fully up to date, same with CineBench. That’s where I’d start

@@AmandaWoolsey Yes, my MBA M1 is up to date and I tried it while plugged in and out but score was around same. But then I went for GEEKBNENCH Score and it was pretty amazing and beyond my expectation. My MBA M1 16GB beats MBP M1 8GB with slight margin.

You won’t regret it! I’ve been using a 2017 MacBook Air AFTER having a MacBook with the new display and updates and the new ones are really spectacular especially now with the m1 chip

This new chip(M1) is really good, it seems even Apple wants to stop using Intel chips. I wish they start using AMD processors.

This is kind of a joke. beat out everybody at that price range. it came in second to the fastest intel process in existence with a processor which is the slowest apple will produce
