I know it's been said before, but after the excellent driving the real skill starts when these guys get to the patient. About a year ago the team attended my wife when she had an (ultimately fatal) heart attack. They worked on her for hours, in the rain. One of the guys left his son's birthday party. They got her heart restarted and got her to ITU but she'd been without oxygen for too long. But she was able to fulfil her final wish, to be an organ donor so their efforts were not at all in vain. I'm so grateful for what you guys voluntarily do, thank you. God bless every one of you.

Anytime I hear a siren, I always look for it - even if it sounds a distance away. I will never understand anyone who doesn't hear the siren or see the blues! As a few have said, some are blissfully unaware of their surroundings and ordinarily these people will stay in the furthest lane of traffic and sit there. Drives me insane sometimes. As someone else has said, I think understanding these types of videos should be used in driver training because watching yours helped me understand what I should/shouldn't do when I hear/see the vehicles. Great upload as always, Chris.
@hazyblue69Ай бұрын
It's not always the drivers fault (other than not checking their mirrors enough). I've not heard the sirens on emergency vehicles until they're right at the side of me (and i drive without the radio on). They're either way too quiet or buried in the engine behind a load of sound proofing.

At least the van driver at 8:10 put their foot down - but they had plenty of time to adjust their speed and let the emergency vehicle go first, unlike the windows van at 5:05 which from what I can see had no excuse for not adjusting to let the emergency vehicle go first instead of forcing it to take avoidance action.
@douglasreid699Ай бұрын
@@Rroff2 there were also car drivers (a ford driver, a vauxhall driver and an audi driver) that had no idea of the emergency vehicle behind them and could have done better in their situation to let them through. I work for a vehicle manufacturer. Every countys order for emergency vehicle options is a little different. Eg some have speed limiters that are deactivated when the blues are on, some don't want that. Some want all the safe guards on all the time (low battery, no immobiliser, rev limits, radar braking). Others don't mind if it can brake itself if operated incorrectly. So mix in different brands and 3rd party work and I'm not surprised each operate a little differently.

Ticket is issued like any other road users. It then gets "sent back" essentially, on the grounds that someone with an exemption was responding to an event that required its use.

@@GaffaTV think that's why a lot of emergency response vehicles have a solid blue light in the middle of the light bar showing that the vehicles is a shout as for some the strobe timing is exactly the same as the flash speed so cam show up as just a response vehicle speeding. In my opinion it's a lot to do with the sirens, they just aren't as loud as what were around 2007 or even older.... Here in Ireland in 2007, Focus, Mondeo were the main on the beat and you could tell it was coming, they were loud, now it hardly noticeable at all even out walking, think, inside new cars, all the sound proofing and radio, you hear nothing.... Worst sirens here are on the marked or unmarked armed units, they are embarrassing
