Appreciate the review - currently trying to decide between the Elantra SEL w/CP and the Honda Civic EX. The Honda has had years of proven reliability...but for thousands less, longer warranty, and unique look - the Elantra could be my choice! Again, thanks for the look and review of the Elantra with the convenience package!!!

With honda you won’t have to worry too much about reliability, but its also way too pricey, i just booked the limited elantra for way less than Civic Ex, here in canada you could get good compact SUVs like the mazda cx5 for the price of a civic EX which is ridiculous

I have a 2021 Elantra Preferred (really this model - they give leather heated wheel BUT delete the dual heating cluster). The refresh they say it has door insulation more, couple more air bags like the Corolla had to go to a couple years ago - the Elantra was "inherently safer" than Corolla, but I guess they need the rear bags for the new testing. I always think - if I upgraded, the gauges were originally hard to read to me, seem fine now so not sure what changed although it was funny (and actually VERY useful) how the gauge is not consist, so 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100. Halogen, it works very well, just it is "yellow" which you brain sees as old fashioned - I just know people say the bulbs are not easy to replace, so nice to have LED anywhere you would that lift-time no service technology if not extremely costly. I drive 99% in Normal mode, and mpg is just like magic to me (my Neons, I would dance a jig if I got 30 mpg imp, this is consistently 53 for 3 seasons).

Hate that the Canadian package and American is different for their tech packages on the trim up from the base. I get a sun roof and all that but I don’t get e-brake or adaptive cruise… would much rather that considering the car is $30,000 CAD… and even though it is DEFINITELY and option for the US models and not much difference between them besides that… I can’t add the adaptive cruise or anything for some reason.

Honda makes better engines. I would love to see if the 2023 Elantra is on the road 10, 15 or 10 years from now. Hyundai/Kia cars have inferior engines. Stay with Honda or Toyota.

No road noise. It’s quiet in my opinion. Got mine 2 weeks ago have had no problems as of yet. Fingers crossed I won’t have any for a long time.

I really love the 3 tbh. I think I would choose the 3 over it. Way less plastic. But the Mazda drives pretty similar from what I remember. Mazda interior is nice and a lot of soft materials.

i have this car and love it, only downsides I have are obviously its a very slow and weak car, but that isn't the main purpose of it, and also there is an emergency braking system that goes off by itself sometimes and it messes me up so much and I hate that, presses on the brake for me for like 2 seconds and I am stuck in position and can't override the emergency braking with anything, it leaves me in such a bad position sometimes especially when I am exiting my driveway through reversing.

Best thing I can say is that it just puts me in a really awkward position where it makes it harder for me to fully back out of my driveway. Now it isnt an issue for me though as I just always reverse park now so it is way easier for me to exit

Yes which makes sense. This is smaller but has more tech. Camry is bigger size but has no tech at all. Toyota still uses key for the lower trim Camry. No comparison here lol
