99P MR WHIPPY - Do they still exist?

Who remembers when you could go to an ice cream van on a British summer's day afternoon and buy a mr whippy cone for 99P?
Well we can remember these days, but they seem to be a distant memory.
We often find that in London or Manchester city centres ice cream vans can be charging as much as £6 for a humble mr whippy ice cream.
ice creams should still be 99p in our opinion, so we are taking on the challenge of searching the whole of the UK for a mr whippy ice cream that is sold for 99p.

I live in Bournemouth and it's very rearly sunny also a ice cream van came up my road 2.20 for sauce and a flake also I recognised all the places in Bournemouth also Poole is right next to Bournemouth also I recognised all the places in Poole as well I live near boscomde

My local sweet shop in Hampshire does a Mr. Whippy with full flake for 99p. You need to visit!

Firstly, they are NOT called a "99" because of the PRICE! They are called it because of the Italian Ice Cream vendors who worked across Scotland and Northern England. An Italian ice cream seller, who's family had a shop in Scotland, was the first to stick a Cadbury's chocolate "Flake" into an ice cream. It started a trend and Cadbury's satrted to manufacture 'half-size' "Flakes" to sell to the ice cream vendors. It was named after the "Italian Guard". In the days of the monarchy in Italy the King had an "elite guard" consisting of 99 of the FINEST soldiers. Subsequently anything REALLY special or first class was known as "99". When Cadbury launched its small (half-size) Flake for ice creams in 1930, the UK ice cream industry was dominated by ex-pat Italians (especially in Scotland and the North of England). So, to appeal to Italians Cadbury's called their Flake a "99".

Barry is my local seaside location! As someone who regularly wastes money in the fair, i can tell you EVERYTHING (including ice cream) sky rockets in price in the summer hols. You'll definitely find cheaper any other time
