Man this is just unfortunate but let's replace Muni Long with Missy Elliott for a second. Keyshia would never have wasted Missy's time having her come to a studio and spend hours creating songs for her and then tell her thanks for coming I'll call you when and if I decide to pay you for these songs?! It doesn't work like that and Keyshia lowkey took advantage of Muni's time and talent that day and then turned around publicly announced she was retiring leaving Muni to assume she would never get paid for the work she did that day. Now that Keyshia finds out someone else *bought* the song she wants to blow up Muni's phone and run to social media, no mam. Keyshia is clearly going through a lot like Muni said, she's not considering both sides and she seems to like being the victim. Keyshia tried to purchase music on an IOU or worse never intended to pay Muni at all and that's why there was no contractual agreement. Muni was already established and didn't necessarily need a Keyshia Cole credit and therefore was not working for free. Keyshia's attachment to those songs is understandable but until she buys them they are not hers even if she did inspire them. I hope they can reconcile and make an even better song that Muni gets paid up front for writing.

She and Muni Long aka Priscilla Renea wrote a song. Primarily Muni wrote it. Keyshia recorded it. I get Keyshia being mad, Keyshia wanted to scrap the song, meaning not release it. The producer and songwriter decided after a year of the song just sitting around, to be shopped to other artists to record. Keyshia is mad that Muni didn’t talk to her first, even though this process is very common in the music community.
