It's sad that Devon and Meagan split up, but I don't think their marriage was in vain. They fulfilled an important assignment. They promoted celibacy and self-love, which helped a lot of people who were struggling. So even though their relationship didn't last it was still purposeful. I'm sure they learned a lot in their marriage and they will take those lessons with them as they move forward.

Let me sit this right here. I’ve been married for over 13yrs. Nothing about our marriage is perfect or happy 100% of the time, yet he remains mine and I am his. Please get it out of you minds that there must be trouble brewing because the feeling of happiness is absent. Happiness is just that. A feeling. Feelings change CONSTANTLY. It DOES NOT mean that you are faking happiness because you don’t feel happiness consistently. It means you are human.

I think Megan’s time in the industry might’ve had catered to her unhappiness. There’s not much about her cause she is very private, but I can only image how someone being a sex symbol since they were in their teens could really have damaging effects on them. She might’ve thought that marrying a pastor would bring her to some sort of happiness or closer to it-when that wasn’t fulfilled I guess neither the marriage.this is my speculation cause you’re right she never seem quite happy or at peace. Or….it could be neither that. And she wanted to continue her acting while he’s doing what he does and it simply just didn’t work out. They agreed respectfully to go their own ways as mature adults. I hope she finds what she is searching for in herself and not someone else cause that can often lead to many disappointments.

I’m going to be completely honest, when Devon said in the interview that he didn’t want someone who drank or smoked and he still chose to be with Megan that to me was an indication that the relationship wouldn’t last. If you have dealbreakers stick by them. Because eventually you will feel some type of way about your partner doing certain things. The issue I see is, Devon probably thought he could change Megan and that’s the problem. Do not get with people and then try to change them. If something is a dealbreaker then move on. I’m not saying they weren’t brought together by God. I’m just saying that some of the things we ignore in relationships in the beginning tend to be the things that break couples up later on down the road. I’m not saying one’s to blame more than the other. I wish them the best in life and hopefully they can fully part ways amicably or possibly give the union another chance but either way I wish them the best.

Just an input. Before getting married, be on the clear with your partner in what you see in your future, kids especially. Not saying that was the cause for this gorgeous couple's separation, just basing on what Meg once shared(one time she wants to start having kids, next time she don't)--don't do that. When your partner 100% wants them, while you're still going back and forth; it's going to be an issue in the marriage's future, & the pressure that comes with that is so much.
@valeriewilliams49413 жыл бұрын
I agree with you wholeheartedly. That back and forth situation is too much. Devon is an A1 Grade great man, and he is doing what he is supposed to do as a man. Megan does the wishy washy thing and it crushes the relationship. They both are good people and we all have flaws, but this one came as a shock to me. In marriage you have to bend a little. Hollywood becomes Hollyweird and I would not have compromised anything when it came to my husband, in which is a good man. The streets is not popular, so why run back to it. Her being a producer now is cool, but she shouldn't let it come between her relationship with Devon. Nevertheless I feel more sorry for Devon because it's hard to find men like him. This world is like a drop in the bucket. It will chew you up and spit you out, because the devil is always out seeking whom he can devour. Megan, being the woman should have focus more on her marriage and not so much into Hollyweird. It comes a time when we all got to sit our butts down and stop Dibble and Dabbling into things that will gobble us in the end. I love Megan, but I'm not fond of how she is doing in these days and times. Life is too short! It's her life and I know he gots to do what's important. I wish them both happiness and success. In my opinion, I would have stayed with my damn husband if I was Megan. He has the best covering for her, in case she didn't know. To each it's own though.😌 👌 😉

When their marriage failed everything they stood for FAILED! If me and my wife spent years promoting sobriety, then we get caught on camera smoking crack, we not only failed personally but we failed everyone that looked to us for inspiration. One, if not both of them, failed in their commitment to God. Publicly! Is there forgiveness? Yes but that's not the point. Its not "OK". Its bad and it leaves a scar. Even though they have no kids. Marriage is God's creation! I doubt that humans would have ever made it up on their own. The first two humans were not dating! They were man and wife. The two became one. We don't get to give divorce a pass because it ain't in our power to do so.

Sometimes even if someone doesn’t pressure you to change you subconsciously change anyway. If you don’t change you become self conscious. I stepped away from the “church” and developed a stronger relationship with God and found true joy and not just momentary happiness. I don't think they were equally yoked. Plus, going so many months away from one another at a time is very traumatic to a serious relationship, regardless of what people want to believe... The pandemic forced them to really be WITH each other and maybe led them to have to confront issues in their marriage that they never even knew they had... Having to change so drastically to suit your partner breeds resentment, even when you're trying your best to be "understanding" of them and compromise. You STILL have to be able to be who you really are. If who you are does not match with who your partner is, it's nottttt going to work!

It continues to baffle me that people are shocked by the behaviors of some "christians" when the word itself tells you that weeds are growing among you. On the flip side, some people want to bring the world into the church and judge what is acceptable based on their own standards. People say GOD told me this and GOD told me that then go back on what GOD told them making GOD out to be a liar to the world. Happiness and Love is a state of mind that surpasses feelings. @@JusJ84 or you missed the part of the interview where she said she never wanted any of that. Not every female wants to be a mom or wife. And it’s Megan Goode. She can ALWAYS find someone 🤷🏽♀️🤣
@JusJ843 жыл бұрын
@@NaturallyDOPE0990 many beautiful women say that and end up alone. Being rich and beautiful helps you find something. But it ain't always love. That's the thing. People bank on I'll find someone else and then get that pet. By no means am I saying stay in bad relationships. My comment was just about the original comment of 0 compromise

They were two different people and Meagan didn't seem happy for years. She reminds me of Jeannie Mai not being happy in her marriage and not wanting children. Till she divorced, dated Jeezy, got married and now is pregnant with her first child. Thing's happen for a reason..

i had no idea it was nearly a decade that they spent married. Meagan is gone get a rugged hip hop centric white boi.

I admire their friendship, a very necessary component in marriage. It’s unfortunate that they’re splitting up, nine years is a long time, considering most celebrity marriages; but I’ll credit both their faith in God overall for their strength that made it last that long. I wish them both the best.

I think they're coming out of this as friends. They definitely love each other, they're just not their true selves in a marriage. I think you can love someone deeply, support them, and care but that doesn't mean that a marriage or a relationship can come from that. I think they are good people who are not good for each other, and perhaps will appreciate the time they shared together. I wish the best for you Meagan and Franklin.

Seriously, I think Devon was in a dream the whole time. He just happened to be awakened now, and can't face the realities of his marriage. May God bless and support him in the full recovery of himself!

I think Megan loved the thought of Devon but not really the actual Devon. He compromised what he wanted to accept her. They were just incompatible. Being a preacher wife takes a high character and sacrifice… Meagan was not about that life AT ALLLLL. Sorry for them tho… Divorcing hurts .
@crystalfam71093 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I believe they both felt they could compromise their individual beliefs to be with each other, however in reality and after a period of time it becomes too hard to keep that up.
