Over pricing and greed? Sorry, but this is all due to government regulations that started in 2010. Caused 400k-500k homes not to be built annually, and eventually reality showed its face. People voted for that. Another thing people have been wanting is for us to be more like Europe, and we are getting much closer to that with the housing market. So, anyone that voted democrat cannot complain at all, as they are getting precisely what they voted for.

There is no competition, most people are not going to buy at elevated prices with a massive interest rate because anyone with a brain will realize that the payments monthly are unworkable for most Americans, moral of the story wait for housing prices to come down, and remind yourself, only a fool will listen to a real estate agent who is always going to tell you it's a good time to buy.

@@noealvarez7612that’s the market. You can blame 2010 regulations for what we have. And, if you look at the long term on the charts, the housing market is fairly close to where it should be. Totally recovered from the 2008 financial crisis. You can either buy your own home, or you can pay the landlord’s mortgage, taxes, insurance, repairs, and profit. People that decide not to buy now are only going to be paying a lot more rent in the future. I mean, we just had millions of people illegally enter the country, and those people always end up in homes, making it more expensive for everyone else. Thing is, people voted for this, so no one that voted Democrat is allowed to complain about our it, because they got precisely what they voted for. This is why when people get older and wiser, they tend to vote more conservative.

If the house is worth far less than the value of the price, and it is cheaper and more worthwhile to tear it down by the foundation and rebuild it, then I have no intention of paying for more than the land. The same thing happened when an acquaintance tried to sell a halfway house; he was offered 200k before the buyer had the property assessed, after which he dropped an entire zero on his offer. Preach all you want about how low rates have gone, but that situation with my acquaintance is where we are going to head if the bubble continues to grow and the companies owning most of the homes keep put the bare minimum into getting the houses "livable" before putting up the listing. Hopefully, the real estate bubble will pop and property values will be adjusted accordingly. Also don't see how much of an impact it would have on the economics, as those selling the houses and overvaluing them on an inflated system would have to clear mortgages that already are paid; out of curiosity, I would like to know the effects, as I won't be able to even think of buying a home in the next 20 years, getting a mortgage or otherwise.
