This video helped tons in comparison to the other videos for this car. Helped me twice in fact. Once when I replaced the steering wheel (accidentally left it all crooked), and the second when I fixed the orientation of the wheel a year later. 😂😂

Top tip to some people. Don't take out the bolt all the way. Leave it in a little so you don't pop yourself in the face when you pull the wheel loose

Did you disconnect the battery before? Does car show errors after wheel change?

Yep, disconnected the battery. No errors if everything is plugged back in correctly.

I did some work on my 2012 Honda Civic LX. I did not replace the steering wheel but I took out the steering column all in one piece and detached all the electrical harnesses to replace my ignition. Now I'm getting a VSA code and check your power steering code or should I say light on the dash. This did not happen before I did any of this work is it that I just need to reset the codes?

Well done video. Just curious since this is something I'm getting ready to do: once the airbag is removed can the left hand audio switch be changed out at that point or does the entire steering wheel have to come out to access any screws that hold it in? Thanks.

If I remember correctly, you do have to have access to the back of the wheel to get the switch out.

My stock one doesn’t have the voice controls on the left side of the wheel. If I decide to upgrade to one that has the voice controls will there be any problems?

No not really, the back of the steering wheel you would swap over, so any buttons on your stock wheel would be transferred to the new wheel. Just got to make sure it comes off the same year car, sometimes the splines may be different and it might not fit.

Just FYI that you might need to spend 60-80 bucks to do a wheel alignment afterwards. Also get yourself a steering wheel puller from O'Reilly if you can't get it out by hand.

fail for reusing airbag bolts. They are single use. The loc-tite is gone once you back them out.
