No not at all, I’ve shared many times that I like them having things the can complete on their own for ease of teaching multiple kids.

My oldest went through all the Jane Austen books this past year - it was a lot of fun to read them and then watch all the different adaptations. It prompted her to write a play set in the same time period and focus on designing costumes for that time period. It has been a fun year 😊

I would love to see how you are setting up and going through the labs. Is she doing them all on her own? Did you also get the lab kit or are you piercing the labs together for each lab? My 9th grader is also doing the History family style, TGATB LA 1 with honors studies. We went with Saxon Algebra 2 for math and Memoria Press for Latin 1. Next semester he is doing a Foundations course from Dave Ramsey on personal finances and business building.

They are online prerecorded classes that you can self pace. You are given 18 months from course start to complete

Highschool is so overwhelming! I picked BJU for Science, History, and Spanish for my 9th grader as well. She will also be doing TGTB Language Arts! For once, I am at peace with my choices for her❤

My daughter will be in high school as well. We are using Math U See for math. She will finish Pre-Algebra and move onto Algebra. For history she is doing the second semester of Moving Beyond the Page level 12-14. For language arts we are doing The Good and The Beautiful level 7. For science we are doing Oak Meadow Environmental Science. We are adding Essentials in Writing level 9 with their grading service to the language arts. She is also doing Oak Meadow Health and Fitness and Level 3 and 4 with The Animation Course for humanities.

I love seeing what other homeschoolers are doing for upper level classes. My daughter will be in 8th grade and we have chosen Apologia Biology, Saxon Algebra, Henle Latin, FixIt Grammar, a Writing, Editing, and Publishing class online through Johns Hopkins CTY and then IEW B for the rest of the year along with a TBD literature study. Not sure about history yet. We may do TG&B history along with little brother. Isabelle finished TG&B English 7 earlier this year. We decided to really focus on writing this coming year for English, but may pick TG&B back up in high school.

I have a ninth grader too! Time flies so quickly. He is using Level 7 Language Arts from TGTB along with a book study or two. Saxon Math. Biology for Science. He is using Book Shark American History. We are looking for his electives one will be Spanish we aren't sure about the second one yet. He is also using Wordly Wise 9, and a Classical Poetry Funschooling Journal.

We are doing TGATB LA Highschool 1 also then Biology and Physical Science from Apologia. Math is Teaching Textbooks. Would love a look through for Logic (already looked into that but still undecided) and Spanish also since we are looking into that for Foreign Language. Hi Ashlee, I have watched you forever and we are diehard the good and beautiful lovers now but I have a ninth grader as well and I wanted to see for the physical science you recommended… I went on the BJU site and there are many options with lab books etc. I did not know if it was all necessary or if the student book and the teacher book was sufficient? Thanks soooo much for all your hs info, there is definitely not enough help for us so these videos are great!

We are almost finished with TBATB HS1 for my son! He has done pretty good with it except I used Writeshop for the writing portions instead of what was in the booklets because he struggles with writing! Otherwise, we will be continuing with HS2 for 10th grade!! 😊

It has been AMAZING! Not only did my daughter love it, but grading was so easy - which I greatly appreciate.😊 We also did Logic, and Masterbooks is a great program. We really appreciated how all logic and wisdom were pointed back to God.

My son used TGTB HS year 1 & he said that it was his favorite subject! This says alot because he has NEVER been an admirer of language arts! I will say though that the units are heavy in history & geography so it might be a bit much sometimes along with a separate history curriculum.

I tried the Logic from MB with my 9th grader this year and it was definitely a struggle for him. He very much has an engineer type mind so I thought he'd be great at it but it was definitely advanced. We are going to try it again maybe in 11th grade. But your daughter could do great with it!

We’re finishing up with 9th grade. We did TGATB High School and loved it! My son isn’t a writer but it has stretched him in so many good ways! I would love to see a flip through of your Spanish. We are doing Rosetta Stone and he isn’t loving it. Also, I’m interested in your Logics book. Looks awesome. I've been eyeing the Logic one since it came out, it looks great. My Junior, almost Senior has used Teaching Textbooks for years now and we love it. That being said, we were not a fan of the Geometry. He struggled with it and he loves Math. When our daughter gets there, we plan to use something else like Math U See or similar. Just wanted to give you a heads up. :)

I’m really interested in that introduction to logic curriculum. My freshman this year used physical science from Bju and it was challenging LOL. We ended up having to drop it but I think the end goal as far as college and future studies dictated that change. It is a great college prep science course. My son’s Going to most likely do a trade of some sort so stress this course was causing Wasn’t necessary. As a nursing major, I thought it was great:) I am also interested in the one that your friend recommended. I have never heard of that book before.
