After 154 came through, @EquusStorm and I went to the next crossing east (the one right next to the depot) to wait on the second eastbound. After a little bit of waiting, we were able to get our sixth train of the day: an eastbound NS mixed freight with a pair of AC44C6Ms pulling on the head-end and another AC44C6M working as the mid-train DPU.
This crossing is a pretty decent one, featuring what was an early-2000s NS install that was still almost-entirely original. In late-2023/early-2024, however, NS added an extra gateless signal on the right-hand side here, seemingly as a pedestrian signal. At about the same time, the original NEG gate lights on the gated signals here with some newer RECO gate lights, which are still incandescent, interestingly enough. I believe this crossing features the first signal with LEDs on the NS East End District in Alabama as a result though. Thankfully, rather than upgrading the rest of the lights here to LED, NS has left them incandescent, which is nice to see. The bells here are also set to ring while the gates rise, which is great to see as well.
You can also see the crossing on the P Line in the background beyond this crossing.
