​@@n1kunj What they REALLY need to change is the navigation bar. That blank area at the bottom of the screen is annoying, and it never should have been there, but it has for years, and Google even made it larger. Finally we are getting Edge-to-Edge enforcement in Android 15, so no more blank area around the navigation bar, a status bar matching apps themes, centered apps in landscape mode with equal padding on each side of the screen to keep the front camera from blocking information, and this is unconfirmed, but hopefully the status bar icons will be centered in landscape mode, as well as the navigation bar. Currently, with everything shifted one status bar's width away from the side of the screen with the front camera, the time, internet status, battery percentage, and navigation bar are all uncentered (it's slight, though still noticeable.)

Mainline modules aren't going to solve the massive security disparity between Pixels and all the other OEMs/Partners when it comes to more complete patching. Backporting a small set of fixes to devices running won't substitute not using newer releases as the overwhelming majority of patches aren't backported at all. While most High/Critical issues get backported, some aren't and most low/moderate issues aren't either. They need to port to Android 15 to get all the recommended patches included made since November 2023.

The Android 14 QPR updates shipped a lot of what Android 15 was shipping anyway under the hood starting with 14 QPR2. Since other OEMs never port to quarterly/monthly releases and only yearly, they will get a massive amount of changes.

By opting not to use quarterly releases at the very least, many people will be months behind on critical fixes that never will be provided through mainline modules or bulletin backports. Android 14 QPR3 had an important bluetooth fix that initially wasn't included as part of the general ASB. The status quo would have to wait months to either port to Android 15 or wait for the ASB to provide an available backport. Enough nagging from worried parties like GrapheneOS only managed to get them convinced to ship a backported fix in a future bulletin.

I know this is completely subjective, but I installed the beta at beta 3, I have had very minimal glitching other than the 0% battery percentage when restarting the phone, that quickly goes away once the phone fully boots. However, on the other side of that, I've had way better battery life on the beta than I did on Android 14

I use custom rom on my secondary device. I did not update from a13 to a14 because i found no significant changes, sadly it is the same case with a15. instead of android 12,12L,13,14,15 they should be called 12,12.1,12.2,12.3,12.4. Just another year of disappointment.

there is still a really major bug in this build. the call audio gets cut off completely after 20-30 seconds, and it happens on every call. These past few betas have been the buggiest ever, will not install any beta software from now on. will have to wait for the new features tho 😢

This is the time in where I appreciate Samsung's effort to make One UI their own thing. The only thing I care about Android 15 that isn't already in One UI are the diagnostics, although I feel like it's just gonna serve the same battery anxiety suffered by iPhone users ever since Apple added a way to check the battery health.

I have the pixel 8 too. Try to think about it in a more positive way. Usually when they put a lot of features phones tend to get worse battery and performance, so maybe if they don't they can work more on battery health+performance and security aka the most important thing.

Pixels are the only phones that ship full monthly/quarterly/yearly Android Open Source Project releases with proper support. They also have a substantial amount of hardware security features that many competing phones implement less robustly, or in many cases don't ship altogether.

You can use the lawnchair 14 launcher for icon theming while having pretty much stock pixel launcher "Pix Material You Light/Dark" is an icon pack I recommend, it's the same style of the themed icons, but supporting pretty much everything

Very few changes are backported through Play System/Mainline updates alone. They shouldn't be viewed as a substitute to upgrading to new releases. Phones still need to be ported to newer releases if they want to get complete patching. Backporting a small set of fixes doesn't make sense over a longer period of time.

Are there different versions of this update? I have Android 15 beta 4, but the display and vibration settings haven't changed. The display is separate, and the vibrations are in the sound settings. Other changes, such as device diagnostics, are in my update.

I've had issues with the lock screen myself on this last beta. Seems like every time it turns around it wants to lock even though that I've already unlocked it or it'll unlock enough for me to answer the phone and then it'll relock.

The battery health on my pixel 7 seems to have an issue and doesn't show the right info, it's shows battery health 0%, manufacture date August 2022 but first use date dec 2020, and it shows cycle count 0 when I've been using the phone for about 12 months now
