Since this was done based on the RC, it’s probably important to update and let people know that a) the general release build was 22D63, not 22D60, and that b) the 18.3 general release also contains >20 security fixes, including some that were actively exploited in the wild, which makes 18.3 a must-install.

Note that the Summarize Notification feature only comes in the Ipads that have the Apple Intelligence. I have iPad Air 4th Gen and I don't see this option in the settings.

That was a very strange effect. Haven’t seen something like that since the days of CRTs. Most likely, it was due to a mismatch in the shutter speed of the camera taking the video and the refresh rate of the screen - or even a problem with lighting in the room.

In fact, given the shape of the flickering area, and the fact that in some places, you can see a faint reflection of what appears to be a camera with a ring light, for example, see 4:32 , makes it really likely that’s a shutter speed/lighting artifact, not anything to do with the screen.

They haven’t named which languages are being released when, but it’s generally expected that the 18.4 release will include at least German, French and/or Spanish, and that it will release in April

I’m guessing you have an older iPad? I have the 9th gen and since it doesn’t have Apple Intelligence, it’s much smaller. Apple really leaned into AI this year almost to the detriment of anything else. If your iPad doesn’t have Apple Intelligence, this update has security fixes and brings back the “repeat equals” in the Calculator. That’s it.

Honestly, I can't think of a notification I've ever received that was so long I needed a summary. I am fully invested in the Apple ecosystem, & I bought the iPhone 16 Pro Max. I knew that most of the AI stuff would not ship with the phone. What I didn't realize was how deeply I would be required to participate in what seems like Beta version 1 as these updates are trickled out. Most reviewers seem to be looking the other way, which is a turn around from their initial thoughts on the 16's. When I have to work to avoid constantly pressing the ridiculous camera control button, and turn off the beta-like, battery eating AI, which is why I bought the damned phone in the first place, it really seems that "it just works" is a thing of the past. Honestly, I'm thinking of just loading my phone with so many Google products, it will more resemble a Pixel. This has been a you-know-what show.

notification summaries aren’t about summarizing individual notifications - they’re about summarizing the whole stack of them. The incredible usefulness of this becomes apparent when you enable “Reduce Interruptions” focus mode and go look at your Notification Center some time later, and you have stacks containing dozens of notifications from an app. For example, we have several Ring cameras around the outside of our house. Instead of having to open & scroll through the stack of 25 notifications that happened over the last hour to see if there were any motion alerts in our backyard, it’s a lot easier and faster to see at a glance a summary that that says “There were motion alerts at your Front Door and Side”

You can set the camera control to require two clicks if you have a problem with accidentally pressing it. Most people don’t - and the Camera Control, by the way, is the single most innovative feature on a phone in a decade. Finally makes a phone act like an actual camera - thanks to it, I’ve been able to get pictures of things happening around me by quickly grabbing the phone, clicking the control to open, pointing and shooting - just like a traditional camera.
