Just picked up new iPad Mini and Pencil Pro so I’m sat. As a general rule, I don’t have any social media on my iPad. I have language learning apps (memrise is pretty great),Moleskine Timepage for calendar, Pastel Kana for Kana drills, and Apple Notes for, well, notes mostly because it has the handwriting correction feature and doesn’t have, like, a subscription model. For games I just use NYT Games since they’re mostly brain teasers and the Professor Layton series. I’m trying to make it an educational, productive, but not boring device. Edit: if you use the pencil a lot, you can program the squeeze feature to act as a home button so you don’t have to interrupt your workflow to swipe up with your other hand.

That sounds like a great setup!

great tip for the kindle app i wasn’t aware of. you can also reduce brightness system-wide by enabling the “reduce white point” accessibility feature, and make the screen warmer than the default night shift by using it in combination with the color (tint) filter

I use my ipad for research and writing as a doctoral student. It lives beside me either to jot down quick notes or longer notes when reading pdfs. I read those pn laptop and use ipad as second screen to type longer notes. All social media kindle app are on phone only. No distractions on either laptop or ipad.

Great video and tips! I use Craft Docs instead of Apple Notes, and I always have Do Not Disturb mode enabled-it’s on 99.9% of the time. Additionally, I use different focus modes with customized widgets and apps on my home screen. Decluttering is essential-just one page for everything. By the way, I just use dark mode and lowest brightness when I read in the dark, that helps. 📖

There’s actually a setting in the iPad. I believe it’s under display or one of the accessibility settings that allows you to dim the screen all the way 100% down. But you have to turn that setting on in the settings.

Do you mean “reduce white point”?
@PLANETWATERMELON6 сағат бұрын
@@rochabriendes No, display brightness. He says you can not reduce the iPad display brightness to zero, but you can. You have to allow it in the settings. Reason you would not want to do this is if you black out the display you won't see where to increase the brightness. I have tried this and it is real fun figuring out where the brightness slider is when the display is blacked out.

0:03 How did you get rid of this extra line with the time and the line after the heading in the Notes widget or the note „No additional text“ in the Notes widget?

Hi, Miles 🙃 I see you have the M4 iPad ... Do you think the M4 iPad Pro is worth the extra money over the cheaper M2 Air, when also using it only for productivity, like note taking, reading, drawing, etc 🤔 Or is the M4 with its pro-motion and oled screen that much better (or perhaps also future proofing) than the M2 Air 🤔 The M2 Air also comes with the new pro pencil.
