What u can do to better demonstrate the wifi connectivity between the mesh points is that start a wifi speed test and then start walking one mesh point to another

Is it still worth considering in 2023? Looking to cover about 5000 sq ft for an optical fibre connection where the ISP-provided router+modem will be used only to convert optical to RJ45 and use this as my base router! The maximum speed supported by my ISP is only 200 Mbps. Looking mainly for 4k streaming with no buffer issues, video calls and a bunch of security cams.

Just a couple questions: can these be setup as a wired system or a mixture of wired an wireless. Say 2 are wired into an isp provided modem (or daisychained) with one being the master node for the mesh network and a third acting as a wireless one that could be moved around when needed, with all three running on the same network. Is this possible? And if so does the original isp provided modem still transmit a wireless signal whilst passing through data to the master node to run the mesh network. Also since the isp modem doesn't support wifi 6 itself if it is being used as a pass through in this scenario to a master node, would the mesh network still be wifi 6 capable. The reason i ask is seeing as I want it to be wired, I don't necessarily have to have the master node directly next to the modem and each node could act as a wireless access point on the same network wired into the modem (apart from the isp modem which would hopefully still run its own network as usual if possible) and this saves a node meaning I don't have to spend extra on an extra node.

If you mean each "pod", yes you can by using the backhaul feature. But honestly, if you're hardwiring them, using this mesh system is a waste of your money and you'll be better suited and pay less for a wired WiFi extender.
@axetroll3 жыл бұрын
@@yourpcmd Actually there is advantage with this unit since it's wifi 6 with multi-user and if it's double band and you're able to connect by wire, then go for it! Triple band will use 6ghz to communicate between the nodes. the extender may be a not so smart to have fast roaming.

Hi, I'm interested in these. I plan to use them at my TVs, Oppo Blurays, and Roku sticks, wiring the external LAN ports to the devices there. The router base would be at one end of the house and the next about 45 feet away and again 45 feet away. Some of these devices only handle 2.4g wirelessly so hardwiring with switches at these these locations should bypass that. Then all I need is some 2.4g for printers low speed. And as high speed as possible, 5g for all portable devices. At the source, I've wired all my computers through switches. I have a 400Mhz ISP. I plan and need to specify MAC device QoS to guarantee Ultra 4K Video is not at all an issue. Will this system work well, step by step across the house between units, and yet still work well simultaneously with older wifi devices like iphones and laptops???? Tony What do you think of my idea?

I just purchased this item and I’m new to mesh systems. Thanks for the video. I have 2 direct Ethernet ports does it make sense to plug 2 of the 3 decos direct?
@otisdecort1474 жыл бұрын
Your first deco is always plugged in directly into your modem. If you have RJ45 connections running through your house, you will benefit of an even more stable network by using the built in backhaul feature. So it would make sense yes. I do this with my deco P9's which also have powerline capability. So one port is used to connect to the other deco and the other port have a switch plugged in to add multiple wired devices to one deco. Hope this helps
@automoglow4 жыл бұрын
@@otisdecort147 ok so it really only matters if I need to plug anything direct? Connecting it to my other RJ45 wouldn’t make the wifi stronger or better connection? Sorry I’m new to mesh and want to maximize it. Right now I have 2 RJ45 ports coming out my wall 1 upstairs and 1 down.
@otisdecort1474 жыл бұрын
@@automoglow It will definitely improve the quality of your wifi network if you connect your decos via the backhaul feature. So if you can connect them with each other through your RJ45 ports in your wall, then definitely do it. Via the backhaul feature they can provide a much more stable network.
