I just bought this monitor used last night for $400 USD came in the box and everything. I guess they only had it a few months but hardly used it. I bought it for American truck sim. and it looks awesome.

Well dark matter says they use a csot panel which is tcl and that it has Quantum dot maybe a running charge?

For $130 more you can get the Samsung CRG9 with 1000 nits, although the Monoprice uses a Samsung panel.

usually only enough for fixing 16x9 to 16x10 or more letterboxed, not all the way to 21x9.

Got this to use as a multipurpose external display for my Macbook Pro 13 2020 and connecting to display port only yields 2560 x 1440. Do any other mac users have this same issue? I have a second display port adapter coming in but still want to have the same widescreen experience like this video. Was anyone able to change their resolution from 2560 x 1440 to 5120 x 1440?

You're not talking about the issues with the monitor. Are you able to display the full 5120*1440 resolution connecting a single MacBook via DP 1.4?? I was not able to .. I had to jump various hoops to get the MacBook to display the full resolution. I think I finally was able to get that to work with an external software called SwitchResX. The non-availability of any kind of height adjustment is also a big setback for me (but you talked about that in this video), and there are no monitor riser stands that fit the massive legs of this monitor stand... Can you please link the 75*75 vesa mounts that are compatible with this!?! I sure as hell don't think there are any vesa mounts that are compatible with this monitor. It simply doesn't accommodate any mounting of any sort...

Different aspect ratio, much larger panel, with amazing specs. Relatively, in the market it competes in, this is a budget monitor.

this is two 27" 1440p, WITH high refresh rate, WITH Freesync. Not too long ago you parted with $600/€600 for a single ASUS MG279q. For the price of 1.5 monitor, you get the area of 2 without the bezel in between.

@Baldy343 What monitor? I see a 34" Acer that freesyncs up to 75Hz and a Samsung that freesyncs up to 60Hz. So you are comparing a one-and-a-half 23" to a double 27"? So just based on area, your $300 would need to be multiplied by 1.83, so $550. Still missing: almost double the frequency, higher brightness, extra displayport, curved. At the moment, it is only slightly budget compared to its direct competitors: the C49RG90 is $1130 and the AG493UCX is $1000.
