love it coach, thanks, I'm so glad I found this channel, just curious if you ever do anything out of a 3-3-2
@CoachRorySoccerАй бұрын
At 9v9 I have only really done 431 and 323. I have some experience with a 242 diamond but you need a high level player pool to run it.
@emilioaita5104Ай бұрын
@CoachRorySoccer that's cool, thanks. Almost everything I've seen so far i think i can adapt into the way I use the 332. All the principles are there anyway. Your channel and what I'm learning from 3four3 are really helping me articulate and organize my coaching

Any advice on how to encourage the players not actively handling the ball to move to good support positions? Are their moves coreographed? I can have my players generally move with the ball, but they don't typically understand what space they should be covering and it's a struggle to explain the hypotheticals.
@CoachRorySoccer Жыл бұрын
Starts with choreographed patterns. Going through those emphasizing the supporting angles and spaces they need to get into. Then doing positional games will reinforce it.
@odelay17 Жыл бұрын
@@CoachRorySoccer Thanks! I know there's probably another video that's called something like "build out from back", but I'd recommend a title that compliments this one like "9v9 defensive patterns". It would be awesome to get to that from here so I can review the same concepts but for breaking out of the defensive 1/3. Appreciate all this and your game philosphy greatly!

Hi coach, have you done a video on your more complicated combinations yet?

Hi Coach. I love your videos. I had a question. How many of these patterns should we cover in a 75 mins training session? Should I be looking at doing one per session or what are your recommendations?
@CoachRorySoccer Жыл бұрын
Yeah 1-2 per session. Really depends on the age and level of the team your working with. Some take to it really quickly others need more time etc. Gotta commit to it whatever you do. Good luck man!!
@IanRowe-j6b Жыл бұрын
This is great. How do you balance the weak aside FB’s run vs staying back to cover? We’ve been holding our FB without the ball back on the field a bit to prevent counter attack. Then going wider and further forward when the ball is on their side. Prior to this all FBs would just run up as though they were wingers on an 11 a side team (we’re 9)
@CoachRorySoccer Жыл бұрын
Depends a bit on how your playing, who your playing, and how strong your CBs are. The weak side FB can go if you are comfortable that you would be able to handle a counter with just the two CBs and 6 in the back. If your playing a superior team, might be best to hold the weak side FB.

That is great thank you so much. I am also using the 3-2-3 or 3-3-2 with my u11. What do you think about the 3-3-2?
@CoachRorySoccer Жыл бұрын
332 is tough spacing wise. Are you using a flat 3 in the back and in midfield?
@footballwithabelgboko2168 Жыл бұрын
@@CoachRorySoccer yes sometimes. It's will depend on the game

I noticed a difference in the dedicated runs in this video versus the overview video. In the other video, one full back stays back to defend while one of the attacking mids goes to the far post.
@CoachRorySoccer9 ай бұрын
Yes. You could do either depending on your team and your opponent.

How do you keep the 6 involved in the 4-3-1, he's barely touching the ball throughout all the different patterns?
@CoachRorySoccer5 ай бұрын
These are just examples. Certainly there are patterns involving the 6 you could do.
@Rob-fq2sdАй бұрын
Could you turn the 6 into a defensive player to progress the difficulty of the drill
@j12345678895 ай бұрын
What “personnel “ do you need for 4-3-1?
@CoachRorySoccer5 ай бұрын
Mainly a solid player to hold that single pivot role.
@dfizzle3238 ай бұрын
How would you adjust this for a 3-3-2? Thank you !
@CoachRorySoccer7 ай бұрын
I think as long as your players are understanding where they are supposed to be in space in certain patterns you can model it to what we formation your looking to play. I don’t love the idea of a 332 unless your attacking shape looks more like a 242
@USCCUSMA Жыл бұрын
Can you do a video demonstrating a 3-2-3 using a CDM/Stopper instead of a pivot?
@CoachRorySoccer Жыл бұрын
Attacking? Build out? It’s pretty similar you just have one mid higher and one lower.
@USCCUSMA Жыл бұрын
@@CoachRorySoccer yes sir attacking and buildout if possible. Is the higher mid (CAM) just supposed to support the attack/buildout on whichever side the ball is on? Should the stopper stay central?
@CoachRorySoccer Жыл бұрын
@@USCCUSMA in general you like them to be on different lines. So if one is on the left the other is one the right. But it’s flows back and forth. I’ll look into a vid on it.
