Thank you. Just thank you for explaining the difference between opaque and translucent during the layeringsprocess. I haven’t started playing yet, however I am glad to know what not to do. I appreciate your tutelage.

Elizabeth, buy Murphy's oil soap. Soak the brayer (works with stencils and brushes too) overnight (or longer depdening on the paint buildup) in hot water and the soap. The acrylic layers will come off easily.
@63artemisia633 жыл бұрын
Or you can just peel the paint off without soaking. Works for my Speedball brayer.

I bought some really cheap acrylic paint from the dollar store and it makes beautiful blooms when you spread it thin. I wouldn’t vouch for the colorfastness of the product but it’s fun to play with with the kids and this big kid right here (me)!

Cards, mono prints to frame, backgrounds in journals, backgrounds in mixed media, prayer flags, lots of possibilities!

You can't go wrong with any Speedball brayers. I also splurged on a Speedball brayer when I first started experimenting with a gel plate.

You are 100% correct, Speedball is the original! Their quality is excellent and I am going to ditch the economy brayers

Well, if you had a deal with Gelli Arts, you could get a 9x12 plate and have zero inches wasted paper ;o)
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
This solution of the 9x11 plate that is already being produced is perfect! you do need a bit of an overhang to grab the paper in order to dismount.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm trying to buy stencils from you but there is no shipping to the Netherlands from the US. I can't find them in your shop on Amazon either. How can I get your beautiful stencils and masks here? Hopefully you know what to do. Yours sincerely, Annemiek Zwegers from the Netherlands.

Hey Annemiek, I’m so sorry, since the VAT rules changed on July 1 we can no longer ship to EU. :( only available from Joggles.

Hi Elizabeth, at first I thought maybe you could contact the rice paper company and ask them to make a different size pad that coincides with the gel-plate or ask the gel-plate folks to make one that fits your rice paper…but, on second thought, that didn’t seem like a realistic solution (although, I’m sure you’ve help sell a ton of that rice paper so perhaps they actually would do that - never hurts to ask). Anyway, in the meantime, what if you cut down the size of your rice paper to the exact size of your gel-plate and then use the extra strips to lay side-by-side on the plate or to fill the gap when you use the larger gel-plate? That way you’d have extra strips of collage paper for your stash that are not ever wasted. :-). PS- I so far only got 3 mins in, lol, so now I need to watch the rest.
@ElizabethStHilaire3 жыл бұрын
The rice paper is made in Japan LOL. This solution works great with the 9x11 plate! it's perfect without any cutting down of paper.
