@@BuffRANGE I have never heard of that round, sounds interesting. If you want to test actual german police ammo you could try and find MEN PEP or PEP II rounds or the RUAG Action4. Should be interesting seeing how the german ammo performs compared to american ammo. The Fiocchi EMB round would also be interesting. I heard those were in use by certain austtian police forces.

Makes sense when you understand the context as a police training round. Lead free for indoor ranges, cavity to prevent penetrating the vests of the trainees using it in the event of an accident. They probably went with the 91gr bullet to match as closely as they could to the duty load. The cavity was probably and byproduct of being concerned with the higher velocity of the light bullet.

This is my go to for ammo! (& armor) when i look at rounds I go “ oh I wonder if Buffman tested it.” great presentation of the bullets/stats plus accuracy testing (and armor testing as well). I wouldn’t mind seeing a test of the Hornady .223 training ammo brass cased and also a re test of the Hornady frontier since it has such a bad reputation from rifles blowing up a few years ago..

I remember back in the 1980’s when Geco ammunition of Germany briefly Imported another German police issue 9mm round… the Geco B.A.T. Blitz Action Trauma … all copper, with a plastic plug that allowed it to feed like a FMJ, but a hole in the base of the bullet allowed propellant To blow the plastic plug out upon firing. Exposing a huge hollow point. ( this acted like a cookie cutter on car tires, leaving a near 9mm entry hole for rapid deflation) they came packed in the MTM ammo wallet ( 18 round, if I remember) these days the German police use American ammo Like HST and Gold Dot…. And use guns made for hollow point, unlike the guns they used in the 70/80’s Which were really only made for feeding FMJ.

I have to disagree no police force in germany uses american ammo, they don‘t conform to the technical guidlines for police ammo.

@@p99guy as far as I know only the RUAG Action4 and MEN PEP II are certified for duty use. The guidelines mention a maximum penetration of 12“ with the biggest woundcavity in the first few inches. This is to prevent overpenetration. The ammo also needs to deliver around 500 Joules of energy.

Indian counter terrorism forces use a special helmet called a Patka. They claim it can stop 7.62x39. I haven't found a way to source them in the US/CAN. I'd be really interested to see if you could get one and test the claims.

Are you familiar with fort Scott TUI ammo? It's like a 223 or 556 but in pistol cartridge configurations very uniquely shaped bullets like no other design to tumble. And is a solid copper and pointy and took down the bear on KZbin you see the video
