My grandmother was in one of those schools in South Dakota. It effected her deeply & our family is still recovering from her pain two generations later. We are staying strong for her and all that went through Indian school. Thank you for this story.

It wasn't just a religious situation.... Many. Secular governments were partaking in this as well. In fact, it was the government that came up with the policy for non-religious reasons. And as the truth and reconciliation commission said, many of these schools weren't given adequate funding... Which is what led to the largest amount of deaths.

@doshpits pick any culture. All cultures have sins. Read about "Europe Indigenous people." Take slavery. Every culture had slaves and enslaved people at some point, and some still have salves. Even native Americans had enslaved people.

@@dmoney5003 you’re being disingenuous. no group has caused human suffering like yts. it would be a false equivalence to compare them to any other group in this instance.

@@dmoney5003please stop with this false equivalency. Indentured servitude is not the same as chattel slavery built of the foundations of a racial caste system and you know that.
@dmoney50034 ай бұрын
@VentureHolly Yes, every race has had slaves. So, what is the difference between one group of Asian foreign America settlers and European natives who went through the same or worse than then Asian American settlers? They enslaved natives from South America. Every culture has had slaves and has killed for women and resources.
