My town does not do bulk pick up. Every summer they have one weekend where you can drop off bulk items. They have dumpsters set up in the town highway dept parking lot.

trash is more complicated than at first glance, if you are serviced by a municipality the contract is different than the county, and if the county or municipality hires a contractor policies can differ again. if you can petition the county or municipality for increased service you may get it because contract waste haulers will go to extremes to keep a franchise with a county or municipality and protect their franchise rather than open that contract up for bid to a competing trash hauling outfit. I've seen bulky curbside pick-up and at the same time free city clean-up days where you take as much as you want to roll-off bins set up and a crew will unload your truck or trailer for you, just show your bill identifying your address. A city that has their own trucks may not come any where close as a contractor in quality and amount of service like a hired contractor who has to make everybody happy. The government doesn't have to make money but the contractor who is in competition with other contractors does have to make money inside a price ceiling set by the contract agreement. A capitalistic free market is a beautiful thing

I love that job.I did it here in Puerto Rico and it was hard but people made us breakfast other made us coffe or gave us water.bad side of the job ants worms even dogs.😎

Is this a regular collection or special requested by the customer? In my area of the U.K. we have wheeliebins. If the bin lid won't close, they refuse to take the bin. And don't even think about putting a black plastic sack out alongside it, more chance of Donald Trump turning Muslim than of the bag being collected. Some areas will inspect your bins, waste, recycling. If it's not in the correct bin, you get a nice big fine from the local council (local authority) Nice video. Always interesting to see how things are done elsewhere in the world.

they check the bags to see whats inside here you use plastic for yard waste they cut open the bags then get rid of them

I know where I am (Upstate New York, USA) they do collections like this once a year for free. Otherwise, it's usually a special request with a fee.

That's because we recycle shit in the UK?! We have disposal centres to take stuff like woods and large bulk so that it's all dumped properly and recycled properly. As cool as it is to watch this waste lorry crush stuff, it's not all that impressive seeing recyclable goods being put with food waste to all end up in the same heap.... Waste of usable materials.

HMSDaring1 I thought the same. Some items looked reusable, certainly not broken or worn out. Disgusts me at the council waste station, perfectly good stuff like out grown kids toys tipped away. At least give it to a charity shop.
