Really cool device. I’ll be using one at a customers to trigger a gate

Really impress with the license plate detection. I think ill set mine up with a gate hub to trigger the garage door.

I ordered one as soon as it dropped, it should be here tomorrow! I’m going to use it to replace an Ai Pro that opens a gate using the Access Gate Hub and triggers other automations in my home!

Nice! let me know how you get on with it.

@@InsideWire well so far I’m pretty disappointed. For starters, which I kinda already knew this, the Access Gate Hub will not power the camera, the camera simply requires too much power with all of that IR. With all of this in mind, I previously reached out to Ubiquiti a few weeks ago asking how they plan to handle this, they assured me that the cameras could be powered by a separate switch and still be used for license plate reading. I was skeptical but at the time, I had to trust them. So after I found out the hub for sure wouldn’t power the camera, I plugged it directly into one of my Pro POE switches. The camera fired right up and adopted no problem…then adding it to Access, my fears came to light. Currently, the cameras have to be plugged directly into the switch in order to be used to license plate access. Now, this could probably be solved with a POE injector, but that’s out of the question for me as this camera is pole mounted and the hub is in the gate operator box with nothing but a 12v battery and 4 CAT6 runs (battery charger, gate hub, mesh pro ap, and flex poe switch for other cameras). HOPEFULLY there will be an update to make it optional to require cameras to be plugged directly into the hub because I could then plug the LPR into the Flex Poe and be golden!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I was wondering how the reading is done in the night! Very clear and very convincing! THANK YOU!

Nothing in this video related to the title about it being "insanely accurate". I expected speed, distance, and angle tests.

I’m glad Ubiquiti is getting into LPR. I wonder what the LPR camera looks like at night? Are all the IR’s bright red? Concerned the camera may be too loud visually to use in a residential environment. Competing LPR cameras for community and neighborhoods are smaller and far less noticeable.

Great video mate! I just got mine today but the night vision even with night LPR on is know when you’re as good. Do you have any tips or did you tweak your settings?
@gusfusses442 күн бұрын
does it still have face recognition. I didn't see it in the AI video detection choices

Cool, do let me know how it compares

Would you buy this or AI pro for driveway? Don’t care about LPR but it’s cheaper that AI pro with enhancer for same specs
@shelms488Күн бұрын
If you’re not worried about the LPR feature then go with AI Pro

I have a question and this might be dumb one haha. Where both cameras on at the same time when you had the lpr night vision on? I didn't know if the IR light from the other camera would change what the Al lpr would see. I ordered the AI lpr yesterday for my gate to open the gate when I drive up. But I also would like to see if there is anything going on at the gate at night and was thinking of having the AI lpr and maybe like a G5 or something like that to see better at night.

I did have the AI turret on at the same time, however I tested both scenarios with and without it on (not in the video) both gave the same results with the license plate reading. Worthwhile noting that this camera is design to also be used as a secondary device for license plate reading so the scenario of have an AI LPR and another camera would not be uncommon. Hope that helps

@InsideWire thanks for the reply. Thats good to know so the IR light from a second camera won't add to much IR and make it so the AI LPR can't work at its best at night right. I live down a large long dirt road that no one comes down but it would be nice to be able to see at night if someone came down what they where doing

@@InsideWire You just answered my exact question! I have a bright street light right in the parking lot. I wonder how this will affect the AI LPR's license plate reading ability with the "at night" detection is selected ON?

@@Moonraker11 @insidewire wonder wheter AI Pro WITH the Enhancer, i.e. LED light on when detection motion, would yield better results than the AI LPR. It would also remove the requirments for 2 cameras (during night wheen the LPR would should nothing but plates). Anyone tested this?
@samhickman38134 күн бұрын
Daytime real world performance after 72 hours is lacking at the two sites installed AI LPRs. The AI Pro they replaced had fewer misreads, more accurate license plate recording. AI Pro picked up 90% of plates. AI pro barely cracks 10%. Night plate reading is good, but renders the camera useless and needs to be close. I'm hoping it is a firmware thing as right now I am pausing installing AI LPRs and putting AI Pros back in.

Seems unifi has 2 different algorithms for license plate detection, I have a LPR camera on an AI port and it will not acknowledge a license plate at night when the plate is the only thing visible.

Which LPR camera do you have?

@@InsideWire Hikvision HNC512-VBA32-LPR I have been doing LPR for over 10 years so far rekor has been the best for the price. It will read everything at night but I pay 20 bucks a month for 2 cameras and I was hoping unifi could save me. Actually it probably can save me 20 bucks a month if I buy 2 500 dollar cameras.
