He did that without any really long runs. You'll often see someone with 200 yards and they broke a 70 yard run. Looking at the box score, Bell's longest run was 33 yards. 38 attempts - wow! 👍🏈

My brother is a huge Bills fan, so the celebrations have been one-sided for years between the Bills and Steelers. Rex Ryan was a bad fit for the Bills, Rex was a 3-4 mastermind running a defense suited for a 4-3. Just didn't work. I remember having a convo with my brother when they hired him about that. I said "The Bills had a top 5 defense which was a 4-3, Rex Ryan isn't a 4-3 guy."

Both types of defenses require different types of athletes. 3-4 Linemen are bigger than 4-3 Lineman as 34 linemen's number 1 job is to occupy blocks and stuff the run, and the OLBs act as your pass rushers and contain the edges. 3-4 DE's aren't your main pass rushers and are occupiers for your LBs to make plays and 34 DEs are just heavier Defensive Tackles. 4-3 linemen are more agile and lighter and pass rushing is the number 1 priority for 43 linemen while the LBs in the 43 are your main Run Stoppers and r usually a little bigger.

@@jruth77 Not a problem. I've always loved defensive philosophies. I'm a 3-4 guy myself. Let me ask u a question about offensive line schemes. Which system would u prefer? The zone blocking scheme with agile linemen? Or The man scheme of line up and block your man?

@@nick56677 man that’s a hard question for me honestly. I’ve ran with both and currently run an offense with both schemes built into it. There’s just something satisfying about taking it to the defense (power/man scheme) but there’s also a great advantage to be able to run a defense horizontally and open up massive gaps as well. Personally I prefer the zone scheme because it’s gap focused instead of man focused. It gives a RB options and a hole could open up anywhere making it hard for a defense to play sound all the time

I will always feel that Coach Tomlin lost control of these guys and that was the end of that team. For such a players Coach and mentor that he is known to be how could he have not talked sense into Ben, Bell and Brown. No separate rules and control the locker room with discipline and this never falls apart. No Ben having his won show where he called out his own teammates, just flat out immature and stupid. Love my Steelers but with the talent they had they underachieved from the point of winning their last super bowl til today. Just flat out with that talent to not even have made it back to the Bowl since 09 is crazy!!
