I have been following you for several years and have really enjoyed your Vlogtober. I just wanted to give you a little recommendation on your Gardening, which is that if you spray your vegetables especially the ones that are actually growing underground like your carrots and stuff if you spray them with a mild solution of cayenne pepper and lemon , the bugs won't eat your plants because they don't like the cayenne pepper. And it easily washes off of your vegetables. It's very good to do that with flowers too or any plant that will get pest. And it's a completely natural means of pest control...

Thank you that’s a fantastic recommendation!! I’m going to suggest Santa bring me a gardeners journal this year so I can keep track and make notes and know what to plant when and how to help them survive!! X

Have loved watching these vlogs over the past week! I don't often comment on videos but Laura, you seem to get the perfect balance of normal life, cozy imagery and knitting all into these lovely little vlogs that are such a delight to watch. It's always a joy to see when you've uploaded something. Thank you :)

I loved this week of vlogs! It's so great to watch it, especially because you enjoy making them! And the Midland Neck would be so great, especially when you have a sore neck and want to keep you neck warm, but it's to warm or not practical to wear a big jumper or scarf (like when your doing things at the house or something)! 🍂

Thankyou so much for this autumn interlude, I always so look forward to your next episode when you publish a little series, then miss them when you finish. But that said it is important to keep it manageable as I really feel for you when you are reaching a level of overwhelm. You don’t need to self sacrifice for us either. Less is sometimes more , particularly if it makes it easier for you to sustain this over a longer period. Keep that foremost in your mind for vlogmas, it doesn’t have to be 25 days. Stay well and happy 👍😀❤️

If you think calling your new accessory design a neck is funny, you'll laugh even harder when you find out that here in Canada we call those dickies 😂😂😂 This was my favourite of the October vlogs so I highly support you combining two days into one video for vlogmas. Listen to your own advice of work smarter not harder 😉

We have dickies in the UK! But it’s more like a fake shirt you wear under a blazer or suit jacket, rather than a pretend sweater under a coat! I think Dickie is technically what it is, but in the knitwear world, ‘neck’ is the entire modern word for it!

Thanks for your vlogs, I've really enjoyed them. I, too, often have neck issues. I have found that doing a few neck rolls and stretches every morning really help with minimising the problem. I hope you recover from it soon. I'm glad you had a lovely weekend and yay! for the Midland Neck. Also, looking forward to your next Patreon video 😊

Thank you for a wonderful series of autumn vlogs, Laura. I have recently rewatched Vlogmas 2021, and am hoping to rewatch the other years before December starts. I remember originally watching Vlogmas 2021 in the very early stages of pregnancy (all whilst isolating with Covid too, yikes) - now my little one is 2 years old!

I was so certain I knew what you were designing ( I think in a previous episode you mentioned Maxine mittens). Then you said it was a neck accessory, and I was like Laura what amazing thing have you come up with now!? It is really beautiful accessory, funny that it's called a neck though, wish there was a better name for it 😂 .I think Whitney was right about calling it a dickie but I've also only worn them under sweaters not over. Thank you for the autumn blogs, it was nice content for knitting on my days off. I love how cozy and genuine they are, it really does feel like catching up with a friend. Super excited for vlogmas this year!!

Seriously! Never before have I felt more seen than in the IO2 Anxiety panic attack scene. I bawled my eyes out! I have tried to explain to doctors how it feels and the best I could always do was that it was like my brain was like a record skipping in a vacuum chamber. That was the only way it made sense to me to describe it… I don’t know how the Pixar people did it but they captured the sensation perfectly. Now I can just tell the doctors to go watch Inside Out 2. 😜

For your new project, The Midland Neck, in America we will be calling your new creation, The Midland Dickie,. Has a nice ring and I will be waiting for the pattern for purchase. Wore dickies as a teenager and now that I’m in my 60s, wearing a dickie helps keep the drafts out from the back of my neck without having a bulky scarf for a bulky sweater on.

You've taught me something today, I didn't know that dickies were also called necks! Your weekend looked like so much fun, I'm glad you all had a great time. I understand what you mean about socialising, my partner and i are always with family for at least 3 days over Christmas, he's diagnosed being neurodivergent, questions have been asked about whether I am, and we come home from Christmas absolutely burnt out, even though we're with, to steal your phrase, safe people!

Lovely vlog. Not that you need to put a value on your parenting but if you paid for childcare and a housekeeper it would cost a hell of a lot more, then there's the value that you have being available for your children. If you worked outside the home things would be different both for you and your children.
