I know I have one living just a few hours from me. My brother's friend (who knows me) took a picture of a woman at a pub who was literally wearing a nearly identical outfit (same colors and style, just not the same brands) and same shape glasses that even had a tint like mine. I thought he had taken a picture of me, but I didn't recognize the place. He said "name of town" and I had not been there that day (I was out of town, just not in that town). Really freaky, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Edit: She looked just like me regardless of the outfit, that was just the icing on the doppelganger cake. I literally thought it was actually me and friend had been mistaken about the location, nope, definitely couldn't have been me.

It would be interesting to study how much physical features can be linked to one's life. There are schools of fortune telling that focus on one's physical features. Who knows, there may be some scientific evidence for such believes
@daina43683 ай бұрын
@@octane7047 maybe social conditioning. our brains link facial features to personality traits. for example: softer, downturned eyes read as more "trustworthy" than sharper ones. this typically predisposes the way that we interact with people. people that have the same features are interacted with in a similar way by others, which might influence them to develop similar personality traits. life is one big butterfly effect and that could definitely lead to parallels in the choices people make in life. we are very predictable.

Years ago I had two elderly patients who looked identical but had no clue of who the other was. One day I managed to book them in the same hour and while they were waiting in the waiting room, they met each other. I did manage to call them in together and introduced them properly. Well, after some research, they found out that they were indeed identical twins living in the same town but had been separated at birth. Small world.

I had a similar situation. I lost my dad at 14 (54 now); the following year in the summer... I had surgery. I was sitting up in bed in the morning and I was told to walk a bit. I got up only to fall back on the bed because I was seeing my FATHER!!!! Poor man, he was looking at me rather awkwardly and I was horrified AND in disbelief! How could this be? Later that day, my mom came in to see how I was doing and I told her--she dismissed it and said that I missed my dad (which is true) and that I 'thought' I'd seen him. Two days later, she came by early (I would see this man daily, he too had an I.V.) to see me, just then, I looked up and the man and I saw each other and I motioned to my mother... she went PALE!!! I never saw the man again, and I wanted to apologize for giving him a start and explain the why of my reaction. Uncanny.

I noticed when growing up that I noticed my specific features on my face that made me feel self-conscious and others that made me feel confident about myself. And each of those recognitions made me act in a certain way based off of how I felt about each one. And so, I think each person who looks alike here probably felt the same thing based off of societal perceptions in their times, since they are all about the same ages. I think it comes down to how society perceives certain body parts and how you respond to those perceptions. And then how you respond to their responses and so on and so forth...and then bam. You’re now 30+ acting the same as someone else who looks just like you because you’ve had very similar experiences from society and its perceptions. I also feel the same way about names and how you feel about your name/the sound of your name and societal perceptions on it.

I’m convinced that I have a stranger twin. About 2 months into my freshman year in college (out of state), a woman walked right up to me on a crowded street downtown, calling me Maria, and started a full conversation with me. It took me about 3 min to convince her that I didn’t grow up in the city and that I wasn’t her friend. She didn’t even look confused; she was honestly offended and thought I was pretending to not know her. That encounter happened several times with other random locals while I was in college, but in all my time there, I never ran into the woman that looked like me. Weird.

That happened to me around the same age. It was so bizarre that neither of us spoke a word. It was as if I were looking in a mirror. We too turned & left utterly dumbfounded after about 30 secs. Then when I turned 21 I began bartending in the next town over where on a nearly weekly basis I'd have several customers come in & swear that I'd recently been their waitress at a nearby restaurant. I couldn't convince them otherwise! Very strange as these people had not only seen, but interacted with both of us & still thought we were one in the same! I assumed it Had to be the same girl I'd run into as a teenager. I don't know why but that uncanny feeling from the 1st sighting was so unsettling to me that even tho I wanted to go find her, I just couldn't bring myself to actually go looking. I figured that since we were in the same town, we'd run into one another eventually again. I moved to another nearby town about 2yrs later & haven't seen or heard about her since. It's been 17 yrs since then & in a way I regret not going to meet her, but I'll never forget the 1st time I ran into her as a teen. It was like an identical version of me from a different dimension had appeared in my timeline in this dimension...but yeah, identical strangers probably makes more sense, lol

I actually worked with someone where we looked so much alike, that when he was grocery shopping on his day off, one of my clients just happen to be at the same grocery store and saw him and began talking to him, asking about the project I was working on with them, all while thinking he was me. The added level of freak coincidence was that it was a random run-in that would have them talking to someone who could have very easily had no tie to me, but he actually did know me, and did work with me in the same establishment half way across town. He had a good sense of humor and lead them on for a while before explaining to them he wasn't me. He filled me in on the incident and they expressed their embarrassment the next time they saw me. The amount of similarities between John and Neil seems so improbable you can’t help but ask yourself if this is a set up. But then I’m like no way, they’re both too sincere to lie. So this is just Freaking Insane.

@@strugglingcollegestudent I think the one might have have had a health problem, and the one who was a preacher looked in general was healthier. Like lifelong healthier. Otherwise I think they would have looked alike.

I think it's funny because to me they were the ones that looked the most different. I was like, "why are they on this show the only similarity they have is that they're old?"

Just hope to God that your unrelated twin doesn't live near you and owes a lot of money to a local gang.

The fact that cops arresting the wrong person just because they look like the criminal is actually not rare is crazy!

I’m an actual twin and I feel less special when I see stories like these. “Oh where in the world is the person that looks just like you?” In the bunk bed below me for 21 years.

This makes me think of the multiverse theory and one person’s doppelgänger unknowingly passes through to another universe where they already exist, with slight differences. It’s extraordinary and spooky how alike they are, even their interests. This isn’t totally far fetched as hundreds of thousands of people have experienced the Mandela Effect.
