CORRECTION: The Video describes Anju Khatiwada as a First Officer awaiting promotion to a Captain. There was significant conflict in reporting in the news and it was very hard to discern whether Anju was a Captain or FO. I had finally based that part of the story from this article - www.indiatoday..., which I have now understood is incorrect. Thanks to ‪@Mike-Bell‬ for his inputs in correcting this. Anju was a Captain and the flight was only her Familiarization flight for the new airport.

@@user-eu1il4ns4o The passenger crash footage is here on KZbin. I know, because I watched it and in this way learned of this accident. There are several versions available on several channels: some longer, some shorter, some with faces blurred for some reason. If you check these videos all out you will grasp the sudden horror of the crash for the passengers, who were seemingly unaware of the developing emergency situation until the last moment -- which I think was for the best, for in this way they were spared from enduring prolonged angst and horror.

My brother and his bestfriend was planning to come to pokhara with that same flight. But later on my mom told them to take a taxi instead of flight. Because she always used to say that The Domestic airlines of Nepal is too risky. Later on when we heard that news we all Got Shattered. God saved my brother that day.

Correction. Both pilots were captains. Anju Khatawadi had been a Captain with Yeti Airline for a long time. She had 6,400 flying hours which made her very experienced. This flight was not to qualify as captain. It was a check flight with an instructor to give her clearance to be able to make future landings at the brand new Pokhara airport.

Yeti Airlines crash last year Magh 1 was found to be due to human error according to CAAN Investigation committee. In the final report published, the flap lever with red signal (right) was supposed to be pulled but the pilot pulled the condition lever with red signal (left). As a result, the propellers of both engines went to feather.

Now the audio has been leaked, it is 100% a pilot error and you are correct on this analysis the pilot did infact pull the wrong lever that caused this incident. This is a very good and well made video, unfortunately the moment I saw that plane I instantly recalled the video and knew what’s going to happen, very sad what happened to them. Thank you for covering it, I’ve watched lots of videos about this crash yet yours still brought things up differently and even tho the ending was clear as the accident was covered before your pacing and editing made it feel like it’s the first time I’m hearing about this! I’ve got some points tho, during the intro the background music felt too loud, and same with some parts of the video that didn’t have the songs just to intensify/spice things up, still good pacing lowering it would’ve made a big difference (or cutting it earlier)

Channel's name imprinted on the plane! Nice 😅 Good video again and congratulations on 2.7M on the first video. A feat where people take years to achieve and you did it on the first video. That speaks the quality of the work and efforts put in👏🏻👏🏻. 50k subs soon🤞🏻. I have a recommendation to make on one particular incident. Hope you have it on your list.

@@_WyngX Happy New Year! I was thinking if you can make a video on the Air India 855 Emperor Ashoka 1978 incident. It was less than 2 mins flight which crashed into the Arabian Sea near the Mumbai coast. I've seen so many videos of this but most have different conclusions to it. Not all have a clear picture on who's to be blamed. Will appreciate it if you can research and make a video on this. And 747 being my all time favourite, I am desperate to know what could go wrong with such a legendary aircraft.

I am absolutely shocked that there was no system in the plane to stop this from happening, or when the computers in the plane detected a stall was going to happen or mid flight the engines were not producing any thrust the computer didn't tell the pilots that this blade stupid position thing should be changed!

Me with hb visited pokhara from kathmandu by Yeti in a round way at 23 to 25 December 22 , just 15 days after that crashed . Nothing to say except express the condolences. One thing more , Nepal 🇳🇵 is a very beautiful country in terms of, of course Himalaya first , & it's geographical structures & unexpected weather , which changes instantly may the caused of that incident.

The fact that such crucial lever is just next to two other ones is astonishing. Other two, flaps and thrust are crucial in flight therefore are needed right in your reach. But why is propeller lever there? For me, as a non-expert, it seems like design like that is asking for a human error

I don’t understand why these pilots preferred to take a different runway for landing just for the first officer’s promotion. I mean there are passengers onboard for god sake and if it’s not approved by the Nepal Aviation, simply don’t do it, such a rookie mistake.
