*** Information Amendment *** A addition/correction has been brought to my attention in regards to the operation of the Baily branch in the latter years under the Willamette & Pacific. The siding at Alpine junction was still in place till the end of operations on the line south of Llewellyn Road. Crews would take the train and run around here before shoving up to Dawson as was the historical practice. In early 2004 remote units started be used on the job and shortly after the crew decided they preferred to shove all the way from Corvallis. Cars spotted on the main would still need to be hooked onto and shoved to Alpine Junction with spots for these customers placed on the way back to Corvallis. In the summer of 2004 the caboose carrying the caboose on a shove derailed and tipped over severely injuring the crew. This was the last time crews shoved from Corvallis as the practice would be banned. (Thanks to Lou Thelen for this extra insight.)

I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed our films thus far. It certainly keeps us motivated to produce more films and make more plans when we know they are being enjoyed.

Great production values. Always hard to see dead railroads.

Indeed. A lot of 'What Ifs'.

I wasn't much of a fan of the weather up there when I lived there (born and raised). But, I kind of like rail videos in stormy and even rainy conditions. This is such great stuff. I love the fact that the old Oregon Electric and other similar lines around the area are still getting (for the most part) plenty of use!

very nice, the Man setting the brakes on the caboose at Dawson was an old family friend, great to see him at work.

Getting current history Bailey branch and hull oaks lumber company is cool. I’ve got a 90s DVD on it but i struggled to find any updated information.

Very nice! I really appreciate your following the remains of the line from Eugene and Transfer northward. I'd followed it on maps but never took the time to look at it from the ground, other than the remains north of Cheshire.

When will part 2 of the west side line be released
@SIDETRACKEDCHANNEL7 ай бұрын
Part 2 and 3 are still in the filming and research process. It will be a little while. In the meantime there are 5 other films also being worked on that will probably be released first.

Great video! I didn’t know the streetcar lines in Eugene stretched that far west. However, I do know that there are still visible streetcar tracks remaining in the pavement of University St in Eugene, at the corner of University and 19th. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
