Yeah I agree, as a young boy I had wanted to get into orchestra and had picked up the Viola I eventually got discouraged from playing though because I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere and the Viola is kinda a niche instrument so more often than not people wouldn't even have a clue what I was talking about when I said I played viola and would ask if I meant the violin. I also admittedly got distracted and decided to spend my time hanging out with my friends instead until I quit altogether

Teachers were shocked by my advanced reading and writing abilities when I was little but when I got older, received less attention and got surrounded by people on my level and higher I just stopped trying. Now that I've stopped reading books all the time, write as little as possible and don't practice writing at all anymore i'm pretty sure i'm below average now.

I'm a drummer of over 30 years. I played the viola in school. The timing they both exhibit from the start of the piece. Is to say nothing but phenomenal. There is a harmonic balance between both musicians. Their talents compliment each other's so well. Truly amazing.

It sounds effortless and smooth because she loves the instrument. This is a rare sight, a young kid that plays an instrument because they love it and not because they are forced by their parents. If she is to keep playing, she'll definitely become a great musician, more than she already is.

Exactly. It's crazy to me the number of parents that deny the validity of one hobby or another. My friend was an AMAZING lacrosse player but her mom really wanted her to quit and focus on piano. She didn't even like piano. It was just something her mom signed her up for as a kid and she lost interest. IM LIKE WHO CARES? SUPPORT HER SPORTS DREAMS.

Btw how long did you practice moving your finger up and down (by that I mean did you practice like 30 mins a day or smth) And also did you incorporate other fingers as well?

@@vectorrondon5852 the easiest finger i found that my 3rd finger to vibrato with, I practised 5-10 mins each time i played and progressively got better and better, practise with your arm when starting off then try with your wrist after you get the technique, doing little and often is good

My father and mother made every single one of their children start music lessons at very young ages. They knew learning to play an instrument was not only an important part of education but helped develop motor coordination skills. I never heard them once say anything about being too young. I took lessons for years and hated it at the time but am glad my parents were good parents.
