I have watched other Chloe Chua videos and I agree thoroughly with you... his presence gives a far more comfortable feeling and it is even seen in Chloe's playing. Chloe learnt to play the piano at 2.5-years-old and started playing the violin at 4-years-old. Her mother, who is a music educator, shared that she initially exposed her daughter to music so that she can discover beauty in life. Chloe practices the violin for 5 hours every day. While her parents see her musical talent, they were surprised by her obsession with music at such a tender age.

I mean as a musician i feel music is about creating and having opinions. Maybe some came off aggressive but it is still their opinion and that is how music should be. If we all liked this and we all thought this was perfect there would be no diversity and diversity is the best thing about the music community.

I mean.. not really lol. Some criticisms here definitely makes sense as a musician. Especially the ones pointing out the rushing of the orchestra and kinda fighting against each other cuz I did hear it, too, before reading the comments. She's different from many of the other prodigies She has a core modesty, dignity and poise that are very appealing, and already she is playing music of different eras and styles with an impressive understanding of the musical architecture of the pieces, whether it is baroque, classical or romantic. She is very exciting to watch and listen to, yet she doesn't "show off" like many others. Everything is in the best possible taste, and joyful. She is an absolute treasure.

As a violinist in my 3rd year this inspires me so much to try as hard as I can and practice for many hours a day. I am first chair violin and I want to be a good example for the people that follow in my lead for tempo and rhythm. Seeing how the first chair in this orchestra was so focused on being on time with Chloe gave me inspiration! I love this orchestra with all my heart.

tudor b He doesn’t mean it in a bad way (I hope). There is a KZbin channel named TwoSetViolin and they use the term “Ling Ling” to refer to a prodigy or great musician. They’ll say something like, “if you want to be good you have to practice 40 hours a day like Ling Ling.” So it’s a compliment.

I understand why some may prefer a gentler rendition of this but I think this would suit something that requires energy. Like sprinting or a frantic cleaning of the house or something. I personally love this. It took my breath away. The softer parts actually do very well to build tension before it is released in one fell swoop.

I loved the competition final version of this, the orchestra there was perfect, gentle when needed and aggressive when needed. Here, it seems like they are just aggressive, but I understand that each orchestra wants to put their own spin on the same piece, so in no way am I saying they are wrong. No musician wants to sound like another, and no orchestra wants to sound like another. But the other orchestra suited Chloe’s playing way more, and brought out how nuanced and subtle her tones are. Either way she will be awesome with screeching cats as her orchestra, awesome job Chloe!
